2026 Minors League Championship Game

On July 1, 2026 a championship game for the books was played. It was a Championship rematch from 2025. The Phillies and Cubs were back in the championship game for a second year in a row. Both teams showed up to battle it out to become the top dog of the division. Game #1 was played on June 30, 2026 and the Phillies dominated the Cubs with a 8-1 victory. July 1, 2026 was Game #2 for the teams. Game #2 was different from Game #1 as the Phillies came out in the first inning swinging the bats and getting 2 runs. The Cubs came up to the plate and were hungry to get runs as well and got 1 run. It was a back and forth game as both sides had great gloves on defense but it was the Phillies who had both the gloves and bats going. By the bottom of the 5th inning the Phillies were up 9-2 and it was the cubs who were up to bat next. The cubs came out swining their bats but ultimately they ended up striking out and the game came to an end with the Phillies winning the Championship. Not one person tonight was rooting for one team as everyone was rooting for both teams. This goes to show everyone how close of a baseball family we are at GJYL. It was great season for everyone but most of all, for the kids who played in the Minors League Championship on June 30th & July 1st as a few kids are moving up to the Majors Division next year to begin their journey in the Majors Division.
