Shaqtin’ Fools Chip Away to Retain Top Spot

As the only undefeated team in the league, it’s no surprise that Shaqtin’ Fools are the top contender for the Spring League crown. The 4th place Real Splitters crew, however, might be the best 4th seed the league has ever seen so the Fools had to know they would have their hands full. The Real Splitters came with a focused effort that left Shaqtin’ shell shocked as they took a 22-13 lead into the 1st quarter break. They managed to trim the lead to 6 at halftime and were tied as the 4th quarter began. A minute and 40 seconds into the 4th quarter, Shaqtin’ Fools took their 1st lead of the game at 47-45. An intense see saw battle ensued until Marcus Shafer took over and lead the Fools to a 66-60 win and a berth into the finals to face Stickmen who they made quick work of in the regular season posting a 20-point decision. Fresh off the heels of a game they weren’t supposed to win in the semi-finals, the StickMen are believers and prime for the upset of the ages. Shaqtin’ will have to find a way to get their high-octane offense on track to squash the StickMen belief system and come home with the championship.
