Willis of Elyria Pioneers Varsity Shuts Out Euclid


Chris Willis shut down Euclid, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Elyria Pioneers Varsity to a 16-0 victory on Thursday


Devan Nail collected four hits in five at bats to help lead Elyria Pioneers Varsity to victory.  Nail singled in the first, doubled in the fourth, doubled in the sixth, and homered in the sixth.


Elyria Pioneers Varsity opened up scoring in the first inning.  An error scored one run for Elyria Pioneers Varsity.


Elyria Pioneers Varsity notched eight runs in the sixth inning.  Willis, Noah France, Hunter Osborne, Michael Benetto, Michael Knapp, and  Nail each drove in runs during the inning.


One bright spot for Euclid was a double by Neil in the first inning.


Willis was credited with the victory for Elyria Pioneers Varsity. He surrendered zero runs on four hits over six innings, striking out eight.


Cody took the loss for Euclid. He lasted four innings, allowing six hits and eight runs while striking out four.


Elyria Pioneers Varsity launched two home runs on the day. France put one out in the sixth inning. Nail had a long ball in the sixth inning.


Elyria Pioneers Varsity totaled 13 hits.  Nail and Zachary Schuster each collected multiple hits for Elyria Pioneers Varsity.  Nail led Elyria Pioneers Varsity with four hits in five at bats.  Elyria Pioneers Varsity didn't commit a single error in the field. Nail had  eight chances in the field, the most on the team.



Neil went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Euclid in hits.
