Baseball NL - 14U Girls High Performance Program

NL Girls Baseball is very excited to announce for 2019 the introduction of a Female 14U High Performance Program. Up to 30 athletes and 6 coaches will be identified to be part of the program that will work to have two teams participate in the 14U Atlantics as Team NL.

The purpose of the High Performance Program is to develop standards and principles, and to facilitate the growth and development of athletes and coaches to help prepare them for future high performance female competitions such as the 16U, 19U, and Open national competitions.

The opportunity to play for a provincial team at a National or Atlantic competition is a great opportunity and we strongly encourages all Female players in the province who have an interest and are eligible for the teams to come out.


Coaching Staff
The coaching staff for the 14U High Performance Program will identified through an Expression of Interest process with the aim of inclusion of female coaches and regional representation where possible. (All coaches will have to meet or be prepared to meet the necessary NCCP requirements to be able to participate in the program.)


Tournament Info
The Baseball Atlantic 14U Girls Atlantics will be held in Moncton, NB September 6 – 8, 2019 with teams from Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and possibly Quebec.


Tryout Process
Players will attend regional ID camps as the first step in the tryout process. Players are required to register online for the regional ID camps by completing the “14U Girls High Performance Provincial Program Registration Form” online by Friday May 10, 2019.

Cost of the regional ID camps will be $35.00 and can be paid at the regional ID camp by (Cash or Cheque) or at any time prior via Email money transfer (preferred) to michellemhealy74@gmail.com. Any player attending a regional ID camp for the purposes of both 14U and 16U identification will only have to pay the $35.00 fee once. Following the regional ID camps, selected players will be invited to attend a final tryout camp. There will be no additional registration cost for the final tryout camp but players may have to travel.

Final Roster
To be announced on or before Wednesday July 17, 2019. The goal is for each team to be balanced in all aspects (coaching, roster, pitching, offense and defense) not based on geography. Each team will have a maximum of 15 players, which includes 2 overage (2004) players and 2 alternates.

Players selected to the program must be able to attend the 14U Atlantics in Moncton, NB (September 6 - 8).

Finances / Travel / Logistics
Once the teams, schedule and travel is finalized we will develop a budget in consultation with players & parents that clearly outlines the financial, time and travel commitments for each player and communicate accordingly by mid-July. There will be team and individual fundraising activities planned during the summer to help offset costs. Some players will have to travel more than others because of physical location and the team will work to offset additional costs as well.
