CODE OF CONDUCT

The principle elements of character building and ethics in sports are: respect, trustworthiness, responsibility, fairness, and sportsmanship. The highest potential of sports is achieved when competition reflects these core elements.

 

When completing my 2021 registration form, I agreed that: any alleged violation of these rules will be investigated by the board and within ten days of alleged violation a ruling will issued, if found guilty of these rules you will be suspended for the remainder of the playing season.

 

Parents

1. I will not force my child to be a participant.

2. I will remember that the children participate to have fun and the game is for them.

3. I will learn the rules of the game and the policies of the league.

4. I (and my guests) will be a positive role model for my child and encourage sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy and by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, officials and spectators at all practices and games.

5. I (and my guest) will not engage in any kind of un-sportsmanlike conduct with any official, coach, player, or parent including, but not limited to: booing, taunting, or using profane language or gestures.

6. I will not encourage any behaviors or practices that would endanger the health and well being of the athletes.

7. I will demand that my child treat other players, coaches, officials and spectators with respect regardless of race, creed, color or ability.

8. I will teach my child that doing one’s best is more important than winning.

9. I will praise my child for competing fairly and trying hard. I will make my child feel like a winner.

10. I will not publicly ridicule my child or other participants for making a mistake.

11. I will respect the officials/coaches and their authority during games. I will never question, or confront them at the field. Instead I will speak with them at an appropriate and agreed upon time and place.

12. I will refrain from coaching my child or other players during games and practices unless I am one of the official coaches of the team.

 

Athletes

1. I will learn the rules of the game and the policies of the league.

2. I will inform the coach of any physical ailments that I may have that will affect my play or the safety of others

3. I will respect the officials/coaches and their authority during games and will never question, discuss, or confront them at the field, and will take time to speak with them at an agreed upon time and place.

4. I will never ridicule or yell at my teammates for making a mistake causing the team to lose.

5. I will not engage in any kind of un-sportsmanlike conduct with any official, coach, player, or parent including, but not limited to: booing, taunting, refusing to shake hands, or using profane language or gestures.

6. I will play by the rules and to resolve conflicts without resorting to name calling, taunting, hostility or violence.

 

Coaches

1. I will learn the rules of the game and the policies of the league.

2. I will remember that the children participate to have fun and the game is for them.

3. I will not encourage any behaviors or practices that would endanger the health and well being of the athletes.

4. I will teach the players to play by the rules and to resolve conflicts without resorting to name calling, taunting, hostility or violence.

5. I will emphasize skill development and practices and how they benefit the team over winning.

6. I will promote the emotional and physical well-being of the athletes ahead of any personal desire.

7. I will respect the officials and other coaches and their authority during games. I will never question, or confront them at the field. Instead I will speak with them at an appropriate and agreed upon time and place.
