Arizona Soccer Association Adopts "SafeSport" Program

Safe Sport Program YYSA adopting too! 

What you need to know:

YYSA cares about our players and their whole being beyond the skill and sport of the game. YYSA is actively embracing the new "Safesport" Program that has been adopted by Arizona Soccer Association, our parent organization and partner of the US Youth Soccer Association.

The U.S. Center for SafeSport is an independent 501c(3) non-profit organization focused on ending all forms of abuse in sport. We endeavor to make athlete well-being the centerpiece of the nation’s sports culture through abuse prevention, education, and accountability.

Following is some brief information on the program:

•All Arizona Soccer Association coaches, assistant coaches and team managers will be required to complete the US Center for SafeSport online course prior (prior to the 2019-2020 season start

•Club Presidents and Directors of Coaching must complete the US Center for SafeSport online course for the teams within their club for the club to be eligible for State Cup and President’s Cup participation. The completion of this online training is also HIGHLY encouraged for all board members (your YYSA Board is currently completing there certification).

•If a coach, assistant coach or team manager does not complete Safesport prior to Cups, the individual will not be allowed to participate as a coach…..during practice or games.

•SafeSports certificates will expire after 2 years.
•There are no fees to take the course or obtain the SafeSport trained certificate.

•Beginning with the 2019-2020 season it will be required that ALL coaches, team managers and board members are to complete the SafeSport training course to receive an ASA pass (credential to coach).

•Safesport Training covers all youth sports

•Safesport consists of 3 phases and all phases must be completed
