We will be starting our meetings a bit early in preparation for the 2019 season, as we have some important business to attend to in terms of Board Positions to be filled.
As I'm sure many of you have heard, I will be stepping down as President as of January 2019, so this meeting will be vitally important to the future of the league, the sooner we can get the new board in place, the smoother a transition we can ensure.
We will be accepting nominations for ALL board positions at the first meeting, and if necessary we will have elections at a second meeting in December. I can't express the importance enough of having representation from all member towns at these meetings.
First meeting Thursday 11/15 at 6:30PM:
Deerfield Parks & Rec office
George B White Building
8 Raymond Rd, Deerfield
(Rear section of building, enter between Police Dept and Country Cuts by Claire - if this door is locked enter through Yannis' Pizzeria)
I will be working on the agenda over the coming weeks, and will do my best to get it to each town's softball VP's/coordinators in advance of the meeting - if towns have assigned new people to these positions, please let me know.
I do know that at the top of the agenda, as with every season, comes filling open positions on the board. As of now, we are definitely looking for a new President, and likely other officer positions, as well as a regular season scheduler, playoff coordinator(s) - and there may be more opportunities to help as I reach out to others individually to find out who is returning - none of this happens for our girls without the huge efforts from our volunteers. If anyone is interested in a board position please reach out to me individually, either via email at email@example.com, or by all means come to the meeting and let's talk...
