Fun, Friendships and Fast!

We have switched from the two hour format of past years to a three hour format from 5-8 PM that gives us a far better training environment.

Braveheart Dauntless Blue Team Forming (2025, 2026, 2027 - 10U to 12U)
Besides High School and Middle School level training and games, Braveheart will be putting a lot of effort this fall into forming a 2025/2026/2027 Grad Year Girls Team – yes, those are 4th, 5th and 6th graders. Braveheart Dauntless Blue will be taking interest from any 2025s, 2026s and 2027s (girls born before 8/31/2007 in Grades 4-6 this fall), who would like to dive in and try lacrosse – even if they are new to the sport. By the US Lacrosse Athlete Development Model, these are girls classified as 10U through 12U.
“Braveheart has had a lot of interest from rising 4th, 5th and 6th graders over the summer so now’s the best time to get them playing as a team,” says Braveheart Club Manager Coach Bill Franklin. “I’m excited about this group of girls and seeing them grow over the next 7-8 years as they progress through middle and high school. The chemistry that they will build as a team will be simply awesome! Kids up north in lacrosse hotbeds get serious about lacrosse at this age – it’s a time when their mental focus and lacrosse IQ starts to grow rapidly along with their physical bodies.”
Coach Franklin should know what he’s talking about: He's taken teams to national qualifiers and events like the US Lacrosse Nationals and the Mid-Atlantic Championships where his teams have hung with and beaten teams from some of the top programs in the country like Long Island Yellow Jackets, Capital Lacrosse and Skywalkers. “At that level, it’s not about winning every game, but about getting a deep love and knowledge for the game, being competitive and knowing that you’re going to be just as competitive as any other kid in the country once you’re in high school, and developing the same opportunities to compete at the next level as players in the other top clubs in the country.”
The Braveheart Dauntless Blue Team will compete in an invitation only Florida Elite Club League during the fall and spring, with most of its play days held on Sundays in Collier County. Practice for the fall will be two evenings a week (Mondays and Wednesdays), one evening a week in the Spring (Wednesdays) and two evenings a week next summer (Mondays and Wednesdays). Next summer the team will participate in 3 qualifying tournaments for the US Lacrosse Nationals with the goal of securing a birth in the 12U division of the US Lacrosse Nationals. This fall alone the team will have 25 3-hour practice sessions and 6 competition days.
“Our club theme is ‘Fun, Friendships and Fast’, so our culture keeps things light, yet developmental and competitive. We want to teach life lessons that will produce strong, successful young women, “continues Coach Franklin. “If you’re having fun and enjoying time with your best friends, then you’ll be less likely to burn out and you’ll always come back wanting more.”
The Braveheart club standards go far beyond teaching stick skills, LaxIQ and specific team techniques. A lot of emphasis is put on what it means to be a good teammate and fierce competitor-- being a high-performing adapter of a positive team culture, as well as excelling in athletics. Positive "life lessons" that make for strong, successful, independent young women are an essential part of what and who we are. Braveheart also puts an age appropriate, yet concentrated effort in every practice session on developing athleticism: speed work, spring endurance, agility and stability to avoid injury.
