Kiwanis ⚾️ 2026 General Info
 
The 2nd Annual John DeStefano Memorial Pre-Season Tournament:
-$300 entry fee per team
-Saturday, March 28 and Sunday, March 29
-3 game guarantee unless weather issues
-pay umpire(s) directly on the field
-teams may have to travel between games to a different location
-championship team receives a trophy
-commitment by March 8 (and any field slots)
 
Spring League:
 -$400 entry fee per team
-regular season play begins the weekend April 11 & 12
& continues until the weekend of May 30 & 31
-Memorial Day weekend is the only dates we will not schedule any games  (May 22 to May 25)
-double elimination OPTIONAL playoffs begin from June 2 and continues until completed 
-hoping to conclude the playoffs by June 25 or sooner unless weather issues
*Blackout dates will only be accepted for April and May regular season games 
*No blackout dates will be accepted for June during the playoffs
*League fee & Blackout dates are due by March 10 (and any home field slots)
*Rosters are due by April 8
 
Summer League:
-$100 entry fee per team
-regular season play begins the weekend July 11 & 12
-regular season play continues straight through until August 6th
-single elimination OPTIONAL playoffs begin the weekend of August 8 & 9
-hoping to conclude the playoffs by August 16 or sooner unless weather issues
*Blackout dates will only be accepted for regular season games up until August 6
*No blackout dates will be accepted for August 8 until the end of the playoffs
*League fee & Blackout dates are due by June 10 (and any home field slots)
*Rosters are due by July 8
 
2026 Ump Fees:
8u & 10u - 1 umpire per game
@ $35 per team per game
 
12u & 14u - 2 umpires per game
@ $70 per team per game
-IF only 1 ump, then $50 per team per game

In Memoriam to the friends of Brooklyn Baseball who are no longer with us...

NICK 'BUFF' MAGLIO

(passed April 2011)

-founder of our Brooklyn Kiwnais Baseball League, the 1st wood bat league in NYC

-beloved longtime baseball & basketball coach at New Utrecht HS, Brooklyn Friends & Ty Cobb

-won the battle to make baseball safer & use wood bats in all of NYC

-helped fund to install the lights at Bay 8th Street fields 1 & 1a

-Bay 8th 1a was renamed in his honor: Nick Maglio Field

-lived his motto which we continue today: "Serving Youth through Sports."

-beloved longtime coach & friend to the Brooklyn Kiwanis Baseball League

-founder of the current Brooklyn Pitbulls organization
