Rules Questions and Answers

As we get questions throughout the day we will post them here with the answers:

1)A  COURTESY RUNNER– The pitcher and/or catcher may have a courtesy runner run for them every time they are up to bat. Each courtesy runner used must be a player who is not in the game at the time. Each courtesy runner may only pinch run once per inning.

2) Babe Ruth Softball will allow re-entry of already used players if all substitutes have been used and an injury occurs or a player is ejected. Selection of this substitute must be made by the opposing manager. This type of re-entry can only take place when an injury prevents a player from continuing in the game or a player is ejected. The injured or ejected player, once removed from the game, cannot re-enter.

3) Glass buttons, polished metal or any exposed jewelry of any kind shall not be used. Hair barrettes are not considered jewelry and are allowed unless adjudged by the umpire to be dangerous.

Website will continued to be updated as information becomes available...

This year, we will be using text messaging to alert you to weather conditions and changes in scheduling.  The alerts will also direct you to check the Web site for the latest news.

There are times when weather forces the suspension of games when you must seek shelter, often to your cars.  Some of those times, you will be asked to not leave the park, just in case play can resume.  If you have signed up for TEXT AND EMAIL ALERTS, you will receive via text, the message to either return to your field or that you can leave the park.  However, in order for you to receive the TEXT ALERTS, you must sign up.

Team Gift Bag Exchange

Each year at the Florida State Championships, teams bring gift bags that are exchanged with another team.  That tradition will continue this year.  Prepare gift bags with items that might represent where your team is from, a special interest, or your own team colors...  You can even make what you bring.  Have fun, be creative.

You'll be exchanging your bags with girls from the same age-division, likely just after your first game. Teams can have as many as fifteen (15) players, so make sure you've prepared enough bags.

The Gift Bag Exchange Schedule will be posted before the first game...
