CAPITAL DISTRICT OVER 50 SOFTBALL LEAGUE

   The 2025 Capital District Over 50 Softball League Champion has been crowned...Congratulations to BENSON'S!   

Benson's has been crowned the CDOFSL 2025 Champions after sweeping Marini Builder's in 2 games in their best of 3 series.  In game 1, Benson's struck early with 5 in the first while Marini's could not get anything going offensively.  Benson's won this one 9-2.  Mike Guilbault had 2 home runs in the game, including a grand slam in the first.  Benson's got outstanding pitching in this game along with some stellar defense.  In game 2, Benson's brought it again in the first scoring 5 again, but Marini's kept coming back, scoring 4 runs in the first and keeping pace with Benson's until finally tying the game at 10 in the 4th and then again at 13 in the 5th.  After no runs scored for either team in the 6th, Benson's exploded for 6 runs in the top of the seventh and never looked back, winning the game by a score of 19-15.  Guilbault hit another two home runs in this game with a total of 11 RBI in the series.  Bartolo Tibrucio added a home run of his own in the second game, but it was a true team effort as Benson's finished the season with 14 total wins against 2 losses.  James Carroll did a great job drafting and leading this team in his first year as a coach in the league.  The best part of this championship, though, is this is the first one for league founder Mike Connelly!  Congratulations to MC and the rest of the Benson's team.  Thanks to all the fans that showed up to cheer both teams on.
