The Elkins Lightning Baseball team is looking for talented and competitive players for the 2017 season. Players must NOT be 12 until after May 1, 2017. The goals of the Elkins Lightning and its’ coaching staff are to teach players the baseball skills and in-game knowledge that will be necessary to compete at a higher level. To help every single player reach their fullest potential and achieve the dream of playing at the next level and be a collegiate student athlete.

The Elkins Lightning baseball team requires 100% commitment level from all of the players and parents. When a conflict arises, the parents will do everything in their power to make sure that their son or daughter is at the practice and or game on time – THESE ARE MANDATORY and NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE. Furthermore, if they play another sport such as football, soccer or basketball or even local league baseball, or has any other hobby and a conflict arises the Elkins Lightning Baseball team must COME FIRST.

Travel baseball has become very popular in recent years. This is in part is due to the talent that shows up at these tournaments. We are looking at getting the 12 best players in and around the area so we can go to these tournaments and compete with some of the other teams.

The kids would still be able to play in their local league, if they wanted to.  Most of all of our games are on Saturday and Sunday and there may be a few on Friday. This all depends on the tournament that we would go to.
