LAFAYETTE RECREATION 2025 SUMMARY
Lafayette’s Parks and Recreation Youth Sports Program saw strong participation in 2025. A total of 846 players participated on 98 teams.
Spring Soccer had a record 373 players filling 46 teams. Fall Soccer registered 240 players making 30 teams. One notable program change was the addition of an ‘All Girls’ Division for the U8 and U10 players. Interest and feedback from parents and players was very positive. More players are expected tojoin next year as Girls Soccer continues to grow.
The Summer Tee Ball League was well attended with 160 players and 16 teams. Lafayette baseball and softball programs saw 73 players with 6 teams. More instructional baseball teams were added. A Minors team is being planned for next season.
In 2025, several improvements were made at the Lafayette Sports facilities. The softball field dugouts were expanded and the old wooden player benches were replaced. A concrete pad was placed inside the east batting cage. The old middle baseball field cyclone fencing was replaced. Shade trees were planted near the recreation building playground. Most notably, new blacktop the SE parking lot was blacktopped and lined. The town crew’s extra efforts with facility maintenance and general upkeep are much appreciated.
Lafayette Parks and Recreation, through the ‘Town of Lafayette’, continues to offer youth sports programs for all kids regardless of skills and ability levels. Our youth sports programs are recreationally-based with the main focus is on participation, physical activity, and kids having fun. Players come from many nearby communities to participate here. We are very appreciative of the many that help make this such a successful youth sports program.
Looking forward to 2026.
LAFAYETTE--HAVE FUN AND LEARN THE FUNDAMENTALS
Have fun and learn the fundamentals—it’s really pretty simple here at Lafayette. We strive to offer a great place to introduce your child to the fun and exciting world of team sports. Our programs are specially designed to offer all kids a chance to learn and play organized youth sports. Games and practices are set up so players can learn and grow while having a good time with their friends and classmates. Coaching and competition is kept positive so kids are motivated to learn and work together—important assets for all youth as they grow and develop.
Parents can also have fun! We cover concessions duties so parents can watch, cheer, or coach their kid’s team. You won't find mandatory $100 'concession shift deposits’ or ‘extra $50 non-worker fees’ here. Our concessions are run exclusively by youth where they can get a chance to learn job duties, work commitment, and customer service. So parents, you too can 'recreate' at Lafayette, a great place where you can enjoy coaching and cheering on the kids with friends and neighbors.
No matter which town or community you are from, all are welcome join us at Lafayette Parks & Recreation. Hope to see you on the fields soon!
