2025 Offseason Updates
The Lawnton Angels wrapped up the organizations 18th season in August
of this year. The boys keep plugging away and invite you to scan our website
with updated statistics and team news.
The final stats for this year can be found HERE (2025 Final Stats). The Angels
updated ALL_TIME statistics can be found HERE (Angels ALL_TIME stats).
Other year-by-year Angels information can be found in the "Past-Season Archive"
under the "PAGES" tab. A very special thank you to Casaya Achampong for her
work in compiling all of the statistical information for the Lawnton Angels. We are fortunate
to have the Howard University student as part of our Angels family.
Finally, in their first year, the Lawnton Angels NEW Over-40 team in the PAMBL league
here in Central PA won the National League pennant for the 2025 season, working it's
way to a 7-5 record, before losing in the playoffs. The boys look forward to continuing
their presence in both Central PA leagues, and look forward to 2026....
2025 Wraps up with a 9-0 loss to Upper Allen
The Angel's season came to an end with a sound defeat at the
hands of division-leading Upper Allen. The boys end the campaign
this year with an uncharacteristic 4-7-1 record. Looking forward to
2026
The boys drop a heartbreaking walk off, 7-6 to the Phillies
East Hanover managed a two-run single in the bottom of the
last inning to hand the Angels a walk-off loss....
Angels down the Braves in a rain shortened contest...
The rains came heavy, washing out the game early, but the boys had
already done enough damage to clinch the 8-1 victory. Next up, Lawnton
heads to East Hanover to play the Phillies next Sunday, July 27, starting
at 1:00 pm
Schedule re-arranged to accommodate a doubleheader at Koser Park against the Braves
The Lawnton Angels will play a doubleheader on Sunday, July 20th, and the location has
been changed from a home game to an away twin-bill at Koser Park in Mechanicsburg.
Game 1 will begin at 11:00 am with game 2 to follow 15 minutes following the completion
of the first....
The Angels bounce back from the previous week with a big 13-5 victory...
Lawnton pounded out 14 hits and got great pitching from Kenny Shadle and Chris Fagan. Andrew Smith,
Aaron Confer, Hayes Kelly, Bill Bratten, Kenny Shadle and Dawan Smith all had multi-hit games for the
Angels. Catcher Hayes Kelly went deep with a solo dinger, and Aaron Confer became the first to record
300 career hits as a Lawnton Angel....The boys are off next week for the 4th of July holiday, but return to
action on Sunday, July 13 at home against the South Middleton Orioles....
Lawnton falls to rival Mariners...
The boys jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to shut down
the Mariner bats which came to life late in the game, defeating the
Angels 14-5. The Angels are back in action Sunday, June 29 at
1:00 pm in Shermansdale against the White Sox....
The boys fall on the road at Eastern York...
An uncharacteristic big loss taken by the Angels on this
particular Sunday....shake it off, and move on....
Last-inning rally salvages a tie for the Angels in the rain and mud
The boys managed 4 runs while down 4-0 in the last inning to post a tie
against division rival Upper Allen....Angels pitcher Kenny Shadle kept the UA batters off
balance, keeping the game close enough. Dawan Smith collected 2 hits
for Lawnton and Brian Aponte started the rally inning with a booming
double to the gap. Chris Fagan fought off some tough pitches and
finally hit a Sac Fly to center to score Bill Bratten with the game-tying run.
Lawnton wins big in Mechanicsburg
The Angels pounded out 15 hits on their way to a decisive 14-3
10-run rule victory over the Mechanicsburg Cardinals... Lawnton
returns home next Sunday, June 8, to face the Upper Allen Pirates at 1:00pm...
Angels drop decision to the rival Phillies in 7...
The boys could not get on track against the young Phillies starter,
and lost 12-2 in 7 innings. Lawnton is back in action on Sunday
June 1st at Soldiers and Sailors Park, facing off against the
Mechanicsburg Cardinals at 1:00pm...
Great start to 2025!!!!
The boys pounded out 11 hits and pushed 18 runs across the plate in a
great shutout effort to start the 2025 season! Kenny Shadle and Drew Newcomer
combined to allow only 2 hits against the Chambersburg A's. Lawnton is
back in action next Sunday, May 4th against the Mechanicsburg Braves
over at Koser Park at 1:00pm....
Lawnton ends the 2024 campaign at 6-8, and just shy of the playoffs
The boys found themselves in 5th place at season's end, and the Angels missed the playoffs
and posted a sub-.500 season for the first time in 13 years. Moving ahead to the planning
of next year and proud of the hard-working roster that we have, the Angels will take some time
off and begin looking forward to the 2025 season. Congrats to Mark Holst and the Upper Allen
squad for winning the CPOT league championship this year by defeating the Monroe Mariners
14-2 at Soldiers and Sailors Park on August 18th.

The 2024 season is READY TO BEGIN.....
The Lawnton Angels are primed and ready to defend their league championship. The boys begin their
2024 season on Sunday, April 14th at 1:00pm against the South Middleton Orioles at our home field

ANGELS WIN THE 2023 CPOT BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP!!!
On August 20, 2023 at Rickenbaugh-Shirley Field in Mechanicsburg, the Lawnton Angels pounded out 21 runs on 21 hits, pitched effectively and played nearly flawless defense to
capture the CPOT League Championship for the second time in team history. The boys came out of the gate like a possessed thoroughbred, and never looked back during the
contest. A concerted team effort, the Angels saw the confluence of strategy and gamesmanship vault them to another title. Simply said, ANGELS BASEBALL.
The Angels would like to thank the CPOT League Administration led by President Wayne Toomey, and all the other league representatives who acquired the venue,
came out to prepare the field and set the game in motion. A special thank you to Jimmy Evans and his excellent crew of Umpires who called an outstanding game.
Another excellent season of hard work and decision-making by our fearless leader, Josh Curtis, whose efforts have been glaringly evident since he has assumed
the role of manager. Another extra special thank-you goes out to our brilliant and energetic master statistician, Casaya Achampong, for her unwavering dedication
to keeping pristine records of all the Angels accomplishments. **Looking forward to 2024!!

Great season ends with a tough Championship game loss to the rival Mariners
CPOT Championship: Monroe Mariners 12, Lawnton Angels 8.
The boys broke out early and held the lead for a good part of the game, but the Mariners
plated the necessary runs in the later innings. A good team effort to close out the 15th
season of Lawnton Angels baseball.....
The Boys vault their way into the league championship with a 7-6 win over the Phillies
The Angels held off a last inning rally by the Phillies to come away with a
berth in the league championship game for the second straight year.
Aaron Confer led the offensive charge with 3 hits, and leadoff hitter
Andrew Smith connected on a monster Home Run to pace Lawnton
to the victory.
The Angels will face the Mariners next Sunday at Fisher Park in Mechanicsburg
for the CPOT League Title starting at 1:00pm
Angels romp in first round of the Playoffs
The boys started slow but came alive in the late innings
to close out the Dodgers season, 13-2. Chris Fagan went the
distance on the mound, allowing only 3 hits on the way
to the victory. Lawnton moves on to round 2 of the
playoffs against the Phillies next week at home.....
Lawnton completes the regular season with a win over the Orioles
A 13-10 victory completed the regular season for the boys. Aaron Confer
has 2 hits including a Home Run in the top of the first Inning. Playoffs
are TBA......
The Boys pound out 17 runs in romp over the Pirates....
The Angels brought the runs in bunches on Sunday, leaving the Pirates
in the dust, 17-2. Pitching was outstanding by Andrew and Dawan, and
Chris Fagan (3-1-3-5) and Matt Bonanno (3-1-2-3) had multi-hit games
for Lawnton.
The boys are back in action next Sunday, July 31 down in South Middleton
at 1:00 pm against the Orioles.
Doubleheader Sunday - Angels beat the Cardinals; Fall to the Mariners
Lawnton split a doubleheader on a perfect Sunday afternoon, defeating the
Cardinals 12-2, but then dropping the second game to the Mariners 10-0.
The boys are off on Sunday, July 17, but resume league play at Home against
the Pirates on Sunday, July 24 @ 1:00pm
The Boys stay in the fight and come from behind for a 12-7 win against the rival Phillies
Outstanding team play - hitting, pitching, defense and baserunning - propelled the
Angels to an impressive 12-7 rally win against the Phillies. Chris Fagan and Andrew
Smith combined for an excellent pitching performance, and the bats were present
up and down the lineup.
The league is off for the July 4th Weekend, and the Angels
will resume play with a home doubleheader on Sunday July 10 against the Cardinals
and Mariners beginning at 1:00pm
Angels surrender big 1st inning; close the gap late but fall to the Mariners.
The boys scored 3 in the first inning, but surrendered 8 runs in the bottom
of the first frame.....chipped away late but couldn't close the gap in the
10-6 loss to the Mariners.
The Angels battle the rival Phillies next Sunday, June 26 at home starting at 1:00pm.
Lawnton cruises past the Dodgers in 7 innings
The boys waited till later in the game, but took advantage of 7 Dauphin errors
and some timely hitting to hand the Dodgers the 11-1 defeat.
The Angels have the all important rematch with the rival Mariners next Sunday,
June 19th @ 1:00pm over at Monroe Township Field.
Angels get drubbed in a 10-run seven inning game
The Orioles came out swinging and flaunting excellent defense to
put away the Angels in only 7 innings. Lawnton travels to Dauphin
next Sunday, 6/12, to take on the Dodgers at 1:00pm.
Lawnton drops a heartbreaker in the bottom of the 9th
The boys rallied back in the top of the 9th on 2 singles
and a monstrous homerun by Jason Fullmer, only to see
Mechanicsburg hit a homerun of their own for the 6-5
walk-off win over Lawnton. The Angels are back in action
on Sunday, June 5th against South Middleton.....
Angels romp in the rain, put away the Cardinals 15-2
The boys pounded out 19 hits en route to a
7-inning victory in the rain at Koser Park in
Mechanicsburg.
The Angels have 2 weeks off, and will resume play on Sunday,
May 22 at FIsher Park in Mechanicsburg against the Pirates.
Game time is 1:00pm.....
Angels start off 2022 with a tight victory over the Phillies.....
The boys scratched out a 5-4 win over the Phils at East Hanover. The 15-man lineup
did what was needed to start out 2022 with the victory. Team effort, top to bottom.
Lawnton travels to Mechanicsburg next weekend to take on the Cardinals at Koser
Park on Sunday, May 1 @ 1:00pm....
