New Press Box One Step Closer

The new Press Box for the Mercy Softball Field has made another step forward as architect drawings and sketches have been completed and we begin the initial phase to getting the building approval from the Town of Brighton.  We hope to get final approval by the Fall and get the building completed before next season.  The 20' by 20' two story structure will have first floor storage for all the needs of the softball program and a second floor Press Box and new PA system.  


Mercy Advances to NYS Quarterfinals

In a rematch of last years game Mercy defeated Pittsford Sutherland 11-0 in the Regional Qualifying game to advance to the New York State Quarterfinals. Mercy will face Iroquois on Saturday June 2 at 1:30pm. The game will be played at Williamsville East in Buffalo, NY. Mercy again was led by pitcher Riley Maher who gave up only 4 hits, 0 walks and struck out 7 in a complete game shutout. In the last four post season games Mercy has had 3 shutouts and has outscored their opponents 23-3. Offensively Mercy was led by Lauren Gulick who was 3 for 4 with 3 RBI and Nicole Bell 3-5 with 2 RBI,


Mercy 2018 Section V Class A1 Champs

Mercy defeated Pittsford Mendon 7-0 to win the 2018 Section V Class A1 Championship for the second year in a row.  Riley Maher was named Section V Class A1 MVP along with Section V All Tournament team of Colleen Fox, Lauren Gulick, Danielle Salina and Kate Vara.  


Mercy defeats Canandaigua Advances to Sectional Finals

Mercy prevailed in another close sectional game by defeating Canandaigua 4-3 in the Sectional Semi Finals.  The Monarchs were led at the plate by Lauren Gulick who had a 2 Run Home Run, Colleen Fox 2 for 4, Anna Mason 2 for 3, Nicole Bell 2 for 4 and Kate Vara 2 for 4 with the game winning RBI in the top of the 7th inning.  The winning pitcher was again Riley Maher.

 Mercy will for Pittsford Mendon in the Finals on Tuesday May 29th 6pm at Brockport College.  This will be a rematch of last years finals.

 


Class A1 Sectional Semi-Finals vs Canandaigua

Mercy plays Canandaigua in the Class A1 Sectional Semi-Finals on Friday May 25th @ Pittsford Sutherland High School.  Game starts at 4pm.  Please note: Section V will be charging a $5.00 admission to all Semi Final and Final Games


Mercy Defeats Brockport 1-0 in 9 innings

Mercy defeated #2 Seed Brockport 1-0 in 9 innings behind a stellar pitching performance by Riley Maher.  Riley gave up 0 runs, allowed just 5 hits with 8 strikeouts and 0 walks.

Offensively Colleen Fox and Anna Mason led the way with 3 hits each.  Colleen had the game winning rbi driving in Anna Mason in the 9th inning.

Mercy advances to play Canandaigua in the semi-finals on Friday May 25th.


Mercy Advances in Sectionals Brockport Up Next

Behind Kate Vara's 2 Home Runs and 5 RBI Mercy overcame a 6-2 deficit and defeated Greece Arcadia to advance to the second round of Sectional Play.  Next up is the #2 Seed Brockport.  The game will be played Wednesday May 23rd @4:30pm at Brockport High School

ABOUT THE CAMP:  The Mercy Softball Coaching Staff and Varsity Players, both current and former players, will teach the fundamentals of softball to all attending participants.  New drills and fun skills challenges have been added.  Instruction will focus on throwing, fielding, base running, and hitting.  Basic and advanced drills will be taught.

 

CAMP HIGHLIGHTS:  

  • 9.0 HOURS OF INSTRUCTION

  • VIDEO HITTING ANALYSIS FOR EVERY ATTENDEE

  • CATCHERS WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO WORK ON POSITION SPECIFIC DRILLS WITH OUR CATCHER  COACHES AT NO ADDITIONAL COST

Mercy Defeats Pittsford Sutherland in Crossover Game Advance to Regionals

Mercy avenged their regular season loss to Pittsford Sutherland by defeating them 15-2 in tonight's Section V Crossover game.  The Monarchs started where they left off in the Sectional Championship game by scoring 7 runs in the first inning and went on to a 15-2 victory.  Mercy finished the night with 19 hits to match their hit total from Saturday's Championship game vs Pittsford Mendon.  With their victory, Mercy advances to regionals where they will face Williamsville East on Friday June 2nd, at 3:30pm at Brockport College.  The winner advances to the NYS Final Four on Saturday June 10th.


MERCY 2017 SECTION V CLASS A1 CHAMPIONS

Mercy put on a tremendous display of hitting and defeated Pittsford Mendon 19-9 to take the Class A1 Sectional Championship.  Congratulations to the Mercy players and the entire Mercy Softball Community for such a great win.  

Congratulations to Senior Ellie Schlehr for being named Sectional Tournament MVP.  Other Mercy players named to the all tournament team:  Senior Olivia Ortega, Junior Nicole Bell, Junior Danielle Salina, and Sophomore Kate Vara.  

 Up next for the Monarchs is the State Qualifying crossover game vs. Pittsford Sutherland on Tuesday 6pm at Brockport College.

Mercy Reaches the Sectional Class A1 Finals with win over Spencerport

Mercy defeated Spencerport 8-4 tonight to advance to the Sectional Class A1 Finals.  The final is set for Saturday May 27 at 1pm at Brockport College and they will face the winner of Pittsford Mendon vs Canandaigua.

Mercy was led at the plate by Sophmore Kate Vara who went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and 3 runs scored, Senior Gabrielle Schlehr 2 for 4 with 2 RBI and Junior Danielle Salina 2 for 4 with 2 RBI.

Mercy hopes to bring home their first sectional title since 2013.

 

 


Mercy outlasts Irondequoit 8-5 to advance to the Sectional Semi-finals

It took 8 innings but Mercy defeated Irondequoit 8-5 to advance to the Sectional Semi-Finals where they will meet Spencerport.  The game will be played on Thursday May 25, at 6pm at Brockport College


Sectional Quarterfinals Tuesday May 23 vs Irondequoit

On Tuesday May 23rd Mercy travels to Irondequoit for a sectional quarterfinal match up.  Game time is 4:30pm.
