About the Camp:  The Mercy Softball Coaching Staff and Varsity Players, both current and former, will focus on teaching the fundamentals of catching – throwing (improved POP Time), receiving, blocking, framing, and knowledge of the position. Basic and advanced skill mechanics will be taught.

Camp Highlights:

·        6.0 hours of instruction.

·        Video of footwork and throwing analysis for every attendee.

·       Basic and advanced skill mechanics.

·       Focus on Improved POP Time for all attendees.

·       How to interact and work with the home plate umpire.


            Dates:    Saturday January 18th    8am - 10am

                            Saturday January 25th   8am - 10am

                            Saturday February 1st   8am - 10am

In our efforts to have one of the finest softball fields in Monroe County we are having a softball field cleanup day and making some improvements to the field on Saturday October 12th   starting at 9am 

Things we need to get done on Saturday are: 

 1.      Weed the warning track before we spread the new warning track mix

2.      Spread the New Warning Track Mix

3.      Weed Eater the fence

4.      Pitching Practice Mounds – Reset the mounds and home plates

5.      New Practice Hitting Area – Spread the new infield mix

6.      Infield – Spread the new infield mix


Items we will need for Saturday:  rake to move the infield mix, Shovels and 1-2 wheel barrels.



Please make every effort to try to help out on Saturday.  The more help we have the faster we’ll get done

Volunteers Needed for Concessions Mercy Volleyball 10/15

Every year as a way to help out with fundraising for the Mercy Sports Booster Club we volunteer to manage the admissions table and concession stand for either a volleyball or basketball game.  This year we are doing a volleyball game on October 15th at 5pm.  We need 5 volunteers from the Mercy Softball Program to help out.  It will be from 4:30pm to 7pm.

Fall Open Gyms/ Open Turf and Softball Program Meeting Scheduled

Fall Open Turf sessions have been scheduled for all students interested in playing softball in grades 6th - 12th.  The dates are the following:

Tuesday September 17th 3pm - 5pm

Tuesday September 24th 3pm - 5pm

Tuesday October 8th 3pm to 5pm.

All will be held outside on the softball field.  Please dress appropriately and weather permitting.


Program Informational Meeting - Wednesday September 18th 3pm - 3:30pm

At this meeting we will be going over basic information about the softball program, the strength training program, Spring Trip and other important items for those both new and returning to the program.

Where:  Ripken Experience (click on to view facilities)

Summary:  Both the Varsity and JV will have 3 games and 2 practices while at the Ripken Experience

Itinerary:        Friday April 3rd - Depart 6am from Mercy High School Arrive approx 8pm Pigeon Forge

Saturday April 4th -  Practice  9am - 11am

                                 Game  #1

Sunday April54th - Church Service in the morning

                                    Game #2 in the afternoon 

Monday April 6th - Practice in the morning

                                   Game #3 in the afternoon

Tuesday April 7th - Travel Day return home bus leaves at 8am


Cost:  Without fundraising the cost per player will be approximately $ 800.00.  We are looking to fundraise as much as possible and will be rolling a NYS Lottery Calendar Sale and a Meat Raffle to be held on Saturday April 18th.

Mercy Advances to NYS Quarterfinals

In a rematch of last years game Mercy defeated Pittsford Sutherland 11-0 in the Regional Qualifying game to advance to the New York State Quarterfinals. Mercy will face Iroquois on Saturday June 2 at 1:30pm. The game will be played at Williamsville East in Buffalo, NY. Mercy again was led by pitcher Riley Maher who gave up only 4 hits, 0 walks and struck out 7 in a complete game shutout. In the last four post season games Mercy has had 3 shutouts and has outscored their opponents 23-3. Offensively Mercy was led by Lauren Gulick who was 3 for 4 with 3 RBI and Nicole Bell 3-5 with 2 RBI,

Mercy 2018 Section V Class A1 Champs

Mercy defeated Pittsford Mendon 7-0 to win the 2018 Section V Class A1 Championship for the second year in a row.  Riley Maher was named Section V Class A1 MVP along with Section V All Tournament team of Colleen Fox, Lauren Gulick, Danielle Salina and Kate Vara.  

Mercy defeats Canandaigua Advances to Sectional Finals

Mercy prevailed in another close sectional game by defeating Canandaigua 4-3 in the Sectional Semi Finals.  The Monarchs were led at the plate by Lauren Gulick who had a 2 Run Home Run, Colleen Fox 2 for 4, Anna Mason 2 for 3, Nicole Bell 2 for 4 and Kate Vara 2 for 4 with the game winning RBI in the top of the 7th inning.  The winning pitcher was again Riley Maher.

 Mercy will for Pittsford Mendon in the Finals on Tuesday May 29th 6pm at Brockport College.  This will be a rematch of last years finals.


Class A1 Sectional Semi-Finals vs Canandaigua

Mercy plays Canandaigua in the Class A1 Sectional Semi-Finals on Friday May 25th @ Pittsford Sutherland High School.  Game starts at 4pm.  Please note: Section V will be charging a $5.00 admission to all Semi Final and Final Games

Mercy Defeats Brockport 1-0 in 9 innings

Mercy defeated #2 Seed Brockport 1-0 in 9 innings behind a stellar pitching performance by Riley Maher.  Riley gave up 0 runs, allowed just 5 hits with 8 strikeouts and 0 walks.

Offensively Colleen Fox and Anna Mason led the way with 3 hits each.  Colleen had the game winning rbi driving in Anna Mason in the 9th inning.

Mercy advances to play Canandaigua in the semi-finals on Friday May 25th.

Behind Kate Vara's 2 Home Runs and 5 RBI Mercy overcame a 6-2 deficit and defeated Greece Arcadia to advance to the second round of Sectional Play.  Next up is the #2 Seed Brockport.  The game will be played Wednesday May 23rd @4:30pm at Brockport High School

Mercy will host Greece Arcadia on Monday May 21sr in the first round of Sectionals. The winner will play the #2 Seed Brockport on Wednesday May 23rd in Brockport

Mercy put on a tremendous display of hitting and defeated Pittsford Mendon 19-9 to take the Class A1 Sectional Championship.  Congratulations to the Mercy players and the entire Mercy Softball Community for such a great win.  

Congratulations to Senior Ellie Schlehr for being named Sectional Tournament MVP.  Other Mercy players named to the all tournament team:  Senior Olivia Ortega, Junior Nicole Bell, Junior Danielle Salina, and Sophomore Kate Vara.  

 Up next for the Monarchs is the State Qualifying crossover game vs. Pittsford Sutherland on Tuesday 6pm at Brockport College.
