Important information regarding SC3V Little League 2020 season:

Good Evening Parents!

I'm sure you've all been wondering if there would be a Little League season with everything that's been going on with COVID 19. So with careful consideration and debate, it saddens us to say that we have decided to cancel the 2020 baseball season. This wasn't an easy decision to make as we all love to watch our kids play ball. We know kids were excited to play their first year, their third year or their final year in Little League, however, there are a lot of factors to consider and as a board, we feel that each player's health is most important!

For those of you that have signed your kids up to play this season, paying with a credit card, each of you can receive a refund (minus $3.00 if paid online, The $3.00 fee is charged to Little League through the on-line system for each Credit card transaction,  making it impossible to refund the entire amount to your bank account) or you can choose to roll your child's enrollment over to the 2021 Season, If you choose to roll it to next year your child will be fully paid for next season and not subject to any price increases for the future season. Please be patient as we are having to go through each registration and refund things manually.

This is something we never thought we would have to do! We will all miss a lot of the fun times and memories that are usually created through the Little League experience. We hope you all have a fun summer! Stay healthy and happy!

SC3V Community,

I hope this message finds you all well during this crazy time.

We are writing to you today because we are about 1 month from the scheduled start of phase 4 of New York's phased openings which would allow us to start our little league season. Our hope is to be able to start a season at that point which would be mid to late July.

Our season will look different this year with some added precautions/rule changes to help keep our kids safe, we may also have to partner up with other leagues in the area to ensure all kids have an opportunity to play.

At this point in time we have reached out to players that have already registered for the season to gauge the comfortability of our community. Shortly there after we will look to reopen registration to give the opportunity for more players to join our league.

March 20, 2020

This is much bigger than Little League.

The COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic is rapidly changing the way that we, as global citizens, think, act, gather, learn, and live our daily lives. And, yes, that also means how we play Little League.

With the most recent guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Little League International Board of Directors and staff is now strongly advising all its local Little League programs to suspend/delay their Little League seasons through no earlier than Monday, May 11. We implore you to follow this recommendation and suspend all Little League activities through no earlier than May 11.

We recognize that this is the heart of the traditional Little League season, and we share in the great disappointment that many are feeling surrounding this additional pause in the 2020 season. However, it is our hope that by doing this, we will all play a small, but important part in flattening the curve in the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

We will continue to consult with appropriate medical advisors, government health officials and our volunteer leaders around the world, and we are committed to doing the best we can for the safety and wellbeing of our players, families, volunteers, and fans.

It is our sincere hope that we can find ways to bring everyone back to the Little League fields this season, whether that's later this spring or throughout the summer. Our plan right now is to start the season on 5/16 and finish our 12 game season before 4th of July weekend.

Little League will continue to provide additional guidance on the impact of delaying the season and has developed a series of FAQs available at LittleLeague.org/Coronavirus. We are committed to sharing information as it becomes available on issues like player eligibility and tournament participation, charter and insurance status for the year, and A Safety Awareness Program plan deadlines.

As we know these are uncertain times, we implore our community to please register early so we can have all teams built and in place so when we get past this we are able to quickly start our season without any delays. If for any reason we are unable to play at all this season we will offer refunds to all players or credit towards a future season.

With all these restrictions in place, we have elected to cancel our remaining in person registrations, and have all players register online at sc3vll.org. If you are unable to register online please reach out to League President Jim Hannon at 631-767-9848 or any other board member to make other arrangements.

Thank you all for your support and understanding. We will be thinking of our Little League community during this difficult time.
