Here at WTBC, we are diligently working on ways to improve. If at any time during the season you have questions or ways we can improve, please contact us as we are always welcoming your opinions. Our booster club is a board full of parent volunteers who love the game and want the best for our children. We could not do this without everyone, including you! If your schedule allows, we would LOVE for you to be more involved with our league. There are board positions open or you can help in areas such as:

Field Prep:

  • Help get all of our fields ready for game time. This is one of the most important events in which it is vital to get as much help as possible - please watch our facebook page for more announcements.

Coaching Staff:

  • Head coach
  • Assistant coach
  • Help coordinating schedules

Team Parents:

  • Schedule concession and grill workers for your team
  • Assist the coach with team needs
  • Pull from main concession during your game time, as needed
  • The more team help, the better!

Other ways you can help:

  • Scoreboard operators, working the grill and concessions, half-pot, trash pick-up after games, and we are always open to any help with donations and sponsorship opportunities.

  • This is one of the biggest ways our booster club raises money. We do not make it mandatory to help, but please know, this time of the year is so important to our success and we need a lot of help! We are known for our delicious strombolis and famous cider sold by the WEST CIDER kings and queens!  Work one or as many shifts as you can. Schedules will be released later in the year.

Please continue to visit our website through the season for updates on games and other vital information. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact a board member to assist you. You can find this information under the CONTACT section!

Have a fun, safe, and great season! PLAY BALL!

New USA Bat Standard:

With the new bat and age restrictions being implemented by PONY baseball coming to our attention this late in the year, we feel it is in the best interest of our participating players and families to implement a 1 year grace period for the 2018 season.

Rest assured that the Evansville Rural Baseball League board of directors feels we are acting in the best interest of the financial and safety issues raised by these new rules.

We appreciate your time and patience in this matter and trust that everyone had a great off season. Looking forward to the next baseball season!

When choosing a new bat for the 2019 season, ^ ^ look for this logo on the bat barrel.

USA Baseball is the national governing body for baseball in the United States. You can visit to view the list of approved bats.

Frequently Asked Questions about the USABat standard:

  1. Which national member organizations are implementing this new standard?
To date, the following organizations are participating (in alphabetical order): American Amateur Baseball Congress (AABC), Amateur Athletic Union (AAU),Babe Ruth Baseball/Cal Ripken Baseball, Dixie Youth Baseball, Little League Baseball and PONY Baseball.

  2. Why the change to a wood-like standard?
USA Baseball’s national member organizations believe that a wood-like performance standard will best provide for the long-term integrity of the game. The new standard will not have a drop-weight limit, so young players can use bats made with light-weight materials.

  3. Why not just use wood bats?
Wood is a scarce resource. The new bats will be designed to perform much like wood, where its performance will be limited to the highest performing wood.

  4. How is the USABat standard different from the BBCOR standard used by the NCAA and NFHS?
Both the USA Baseball and NCAA bat performance tests are based on the coefficient of restitution from a bat-ball impact. The scale of results is different, however, since they use different test balls and test speeds. The testing difference is necessary to address the various levels of play in the respective age groups.

  5. Why is USA Baseball involved?
The national member organizations asked USA Baseball as the national governing body to take the lead in this process to establish a new standard. Many other national governing bodies set and enforce standards for the equipment in their respective sports. To that end, USA Baseball established a Bat Study Committee of leading scientists and conducted theoretical modeling, field testing and lab testing. The committee shared its findings with the national member organizations, who then endorsed the new USABat standard.

  6. Why wait until 2018?
The implementation date of 2018 will allow bat manufacturers sufficient time to conduct the appropriate research, design, testing, manufacturing and shipping needed to get new bats into retail outlets. This date also allows the participating national member organizations adequate time to educate their memberships of the USABat standard.

  7. Is my current bat good for league play?

Yes. Current league-approved bats can be used through during our one year grace period set by the Evansville Rural Baseball League (ERBL) board of directors. New USABats can be used during 2018.

  8. How will I know which bat to buy?

All new bats that bear the USABat licensing mark (logo above) will be permissible for play in the leagues and tournaments of the participating youth baseball organizations. However, if you have any questions, please contact us for help and we will be glad to do so!

  9. Does this standard apply to Tee Ball?

Applying a USABat Tee Ball Sticker to a tee ball bat (26” and shorter) will make the bat compliant under the USABat Standard for tee ball. Go to USABaseall website for info. New tee ball bats featuring the USA Baseball mark do not need to be stickered.

  10. What will the barrel size be of the new bats?
The bats approved using the USABat Standard will be made in  2 1/4-, 2 1/2-, and 2 5/8- inch dimensions.
