Coach Zak (Peter Zakkak) September 21, 1966 – February 18, 2019
Sadly, we lost a great man that helped a lot of children learn to play the game of baseball. On February 18, 2019, Peter Zakkak, or as most people knew him as Coach Zak, passed away suddenly. It has affected a lot of people that knew him well, especially his close friends and family. He was the Head Coach for the York Blue Jays AA Midget team and West Toronto AAA Minor Midget team. He was the heart of Keelesdale Park North, the home field for both teams. He always made sure the park was in excellent condition for any game taking place, if it was a high school game or a rep game. He was a teacher of the game to both players and coaches. He was a man with thick skin but once you knew him he would help you in any way possible. He was a great coach and amazing friend. Coach Zak is the reason York Midget program kept on going for so many years, and he will watch from up above in the fields of dreams.
His viewing will take place this Friday February 22, 2019 between 5pm-9pm.
