Alyssa Persich began playing softball at the age of 5. She has played the sport for over 16 years, with 4 years of playing at the collegiate level at SUNY Geneseo. During her years of playing travel ball, she was a part of the Sudden Impact and the Long Island Express organizations. She played a year of softball with head coach Christine Rizzacasa on the Long Island Express 18U Gold team.

Alyssa was a member of the NCAA Division III, SUNY Geneseo softball team from 2015-2019. During this time, her and her teammates made 3 conference tournament appearances and 2 NCAA tournament appearances. In 2018, they won their conference championship and advanced to the NCAA regional finals. The following season, her team received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament where they advanced to the NCAA Super Regionals. Alyssa was named NFCA All-Region Second Team, All-SUNYAC Conference First Team, and All-Tournament team at the conference and regional championships her junior year. She finished her collegiate career with the 2nd most career hits in program history, as well as other accolades. Her primary position was centerfield, but she also saw some time on the mound as a pitcher.

In 2020, Alyssa joined the Nitro organization as an assistant coach of the Nitro 18U Elite team. She has since stepped up to take over as the Head Coach for TNLI 18U Elite. She brings her knowledge of outfield and pitching, as well as slapping. She hopes to instill her love of the game in all her players and making them the best they can be, while having fun. She believes that if you are willing to put in the work, then you will find a way on the field. There is a college for anyone that truly wants to continue to play, and she hopes to give the girls the guidance they need to continue on to that level.

At SUNY Geneseo, Alyssa pursued a Bachelor’s degree in mathematics. She is now continuing her education at Adelphi University, where she will be receiving her Master’s in Mathematics Education at the Secondary level. She hopes to combine her passion of teaching and creating better learners with her love of softball to make each individual on her team a better player.
