Bobby Thompson begins his 4th season as Challenger head coach in 2023. Thompson is from Inver Grove Heights and graduated from Saint Thomas Academy in 2014. He went on to play club baseball at Iowa State University, where he was named captain and helped lead the Cyclones to the 2018 NCBA World Series. Thompson coached the Saint Thomas Academy 15U summer team from 2016-2019, in addition to coaching the STA B-Squad team since 2019. He currently serves as the STA Head Varsity Coach and also serves as a coach and personal instructor for Great Lakes Baseball Academy in Woodbury, Minn. Thompson graduated from Iowa State in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in marketing & accounting, and earned his master’s degree in Sports Management from Concordia University - Saint Paul in 2020.
