Krusty...... You have any opinions on this team and why they are at the bottom of the league year after year. Being a former Merton player it's down right depressing seeing this team get soundly beaten week after week. Is it Pitching, Hitting, Fundamentals or are they that out classed by the rest of the division? I can only see the scores on the web Site so I'm wondering what the problem is.

Satch, it seems that these teams do not pick up enough quality players in the off season. They pretty much have the same players year after year. Picking up good pitching should be the goal and I'm sure it is but the pickings are slim given the amount of teams we have in the division compared to the amount of pitchers that can actually help your team out.

It's about who you know as well. These teams are competing for good players with teams that have a pretty good connection with the talent pool. Scott Doffek who plays for Lannon is the Head Coach at UWM so when they have picks, they will always get a quality player.

Here is the skinny on Monches. They are starting to go in the right direction. This year they picked up some good players, including a pitcher, catcher, and 2-Infielders. Their Infield is pretty solid. An outfield upgrade and #2 starter are needed badly. They have a couple of guys with good arms that can step into relief roles on team already. If they add 2-3 quality players next year, they have a chance to get to .500. Monches needs to recruit some of the younger players in the Germantown and Falls area that aren't getting a chance to play with "The Good Old Boys" in their respective communties. If they add the right players, look for Monches to start moving up in 2008. Good pitching and defense can win in this League.
