And So It's Begun
The 2008 MIBL Season was looking to start on May 19, but heavy rain postponed that. Teams were already scrambling to get their makeup games scheduled in a hurry.
And so the first call of the umpire was heard at Weir Field where the new expansion club from Spryfield met the newly joined Dartmouth Junior squad for a season openning tilt in Upper Sackville at the Weir Park.
Spryfield showed signs of rust in the pitching category walking in several runs and being shut out on the score board. Final score was 13-0
It was looking like Mainland Commons was not going to have lights the first 4 weeks of the season. But thanks to some media attention, HRM stood up and got the newest HRM field running with in a week.
The MIBL hopes that visitors to the website will look at the league schedule and go check out some games at their local fields. Also, it's recommended to visit the team's websites for information about their players and sponsors.
