2020 Season Update!!!

Good Afternoon,

The Board is happy to announce that with the City of Burlington moving to Phase 3, the league will be moving ahead with a shortened season beginning in August.

While we work out the details of how this will play out, please be aware that there will be special guidelines that will need to be followed by all member teams, players, coaches and umpires.

In order to ensure we are all safe during our season (and to ensure we are not forced to shut down prematurely by the city), these updated guidelines will be posted once approved by the City and our member teams.

We are working to ensure that we are leaders in getting our teams back on the field by learning from the mistakes we have seen other (professional) leagues make in their return to play protocols.

We will be in touch within the next couple of days with further updates.

Marco Serra

President, Burlington Vintage Baseball League

***Update***

We can confirm that we have expanded for the 2016 season to 8 teams.

Our new team will be called the "Twins" and they will be run by Chris Thomas and Todd McKenzie.

Welcome to the League!!!

We will be holding Player Evaluation Camps Thursday nights at Fieldhouse Athletics from 9 pm until 11 pm (during our League Drop in Time) for any players who have expressed interest in joining our League.

We are still looking and able to add more players to the league and as such, this ad remains up on Kijiji, Craigslist, Mainway Batting Cages and at Fieldhouse Athletics;

Our "Drop-In" nights have been ongoing throughout the winter at Fieldhouse.

A reminder that our reserved time is from 9 pm and 11 pm each Thursday over the Winter.

The cost is $10 per player each night.

2015 Season Under Way!!!

May 20, 2015 – 11:30 AM

Welcome to the 2015 BVB Season!!!

We got started last night with a pair of games as the Hobos took on the Mudhens and the Blue Jays went up against the Defending League Champion Cardinals.

It did not take long for the Hens newcomers to make themselves known.  In the top of the first inning with the Hobos threatening, an inning ending double play started by new Hens SS Rob Burk and quickly transferring through Boot’s beard and over to a newer improved and considerably ‘tighter’ version of 1B Jamie Trull, ended the danger for starting pitcher Mark Caron.  In the second inning, new Hens RF’er Chris Veltri made a running, over the shoulder grab that saved two runs to end yet another threat.

The Hens went to the offence early with 4 runs in the first two innings off the strength of Ken Pagan and Mike Ellison’s back to back RBI’s.  A leadoff home run by Hens 2B Rick Boutilier facing Hobos pitcher Steve Maher started the 3rd inning.  Mark Caron went three strong innings allowing only one run.  After scoring 6 runs in the bottom half of the 3rd inning the Hobos bats came to life as they put up 6 runs of their own.  With the score 10-7 the Hens sent  newcomer Rob Burk to the mound who held two strong scoreless innings to preserve the 10-7 opening game victory.

In the nightcap, the Blue Jays got out to a quick 2-0 first inning lead when newly acquired Greg McEachern and returning veteran Terry Alderson scored on starting SS Joe Stephens single to Left field. The Cardinals stormed back with a 6 spot in the top of the 2nd, aided by several defensive miscues by the Jays themselves as the ghosts of seasons past returned with a vengeance. Despite a solid debut on the mound for both McEachern (3 innings, no earned runs) and Mark Wolfendale (4 innings, 2 earned runs), the Cards would add runs in the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th innings and were never really challenged again as they won convincingly 12-3 to open their title defense.

Our next game Game Day is May 22nd with the Athletics taking on the Braves at 6 pm followed by the Cubs and Blue Jays at 8:30.

Please remember that we are taking team and individual pictures as well as the photographer will be at the park around 7 pm Friday.

Thanks and Good Luck to All!!!

All-Star Weekend Review

The Results are in and it was a Great All-Star Weekend!!!!

For a while, it looked as if warning track power was all we would be able to muster.

As the night went on and the tension increased, we ended up with a 3 man final that had Danny Cepero, vs. Steve Lancia vs. Rick "Boots" Boutilier.

In the end, Danny Cepero of the Braves was crowned Home Run Derby Champ.

Congratulations to all who participated.

The All-Star Game pitted Team Gionas against Team Wamboldt.

Team Wamboldt got off to a fast start with a 3 run shot by Rick "Boots" Boutilier in the top of the first off Team Gionas starting pitcher Dave Oelke of the Blue Jays. Team Gionas fought back and tied the game in the bottom of the 3rd.

It was a tight game the rest of the way as Team Wamboldt hung on to win 6-5.

Thank you to all for participating as it was a tight game and great weekend overall.

We are into the last few weeks of the year and playoff seeding is now on the line as teams jockey for positioning.

Everything is still up in the air in terms of #1 through to #7 seeding with several BIG games coming up this week that should help clear up a very muddy picture.

Tonight, the Blue Jays face the 4th seed at 6 pm when they take on the Mudhens and at 8:30, a battle of the #1 and #2 seeds will take place as the Braves take on the defending Champ Cardinals.

With only 3 weeks left in the season, here is a snapshot of our Offensive Statistical Leaders;

Note: To qualify for the Batting Average leader board, players had to have played at least half of their teams games minus 1

We are down to our final Regular Season Games  with the #2 and #3 seeds still to be Finalized.

Tomorrow night, the #3 Mudhens play the #2 Cardinals at 8:30 and the #4 Hobos play the A's at 6 pm. Both games are at Nelson Park.

The winner of the Cards  and Mudhens game will be the #2 Seed.

Game #1 of each of the Quarter Final series will be played  Friday August 21st.

The rest of our Playoff schedule will be released in the next 24 hours.

Here is a reminder to all about the Playoff structure using the current standings as an example;

The #1 Seed *Braves have earned a 1st round bye.

#2 Seed (Cards) vs. #7 Seed (*Cubs)

#3 Seed (Mudhens) vs. #6 Seed (*A's)

#4 Seed (*Hobos) vs. #5 Seed (*Blue Jays)

*Denotes confirmed seeding

Please make sure your teams are aware that each series is a best 3 out of 5.

We had planned to make the Finals a Best of 7 but with the additional week added to the season due to rainouts and re-scheduled games, we have had to make it a Best of 5 Series as well.

Thanks And Good Luck to All!!!

Throughout the Finals, be on the look out for updates in the Burlington Post as we will have pictures and stories available right on their website.

Game 5 Ends with Cardinals 8-3 Win, Champs Again

October 1, 2015

While Game #5 did not have the drama of Game #4, I doubt anyone on the Cardinals really cares as they cruised to an 8-3 win clinching their 6th straight BVB Championship.

The Braves seemed a bit out of gas in the middle stages of the game. After giving up an early 2-0 lead in the first inning then fighting back to within 1 run by the 4th, things started to unravel for them. There was no quit in any of them but by the 5th inning, with the score at 8-2, it was clear this was not their night.

The winning pitcher was Neil Fraser who pitcher 4 solid innings and then turned it over to Matt Lareau who closed things out, sealing the win on a softly hit comebacker to end a very successful season for the League.

Kudos to Mike Gionas and the Braves for a great season as they were the best team throughout the regular season by a wide margin. They were 3 outs away from winning it all on Wednesday night but the  Cardinals were just a slight bit better when it counted the most.

On a Final note, we have launched "Vintage Voice" as you can see on the left hand tab section of the website. Please consider this your way of letting the board know your thoughts, ideas, suggestions. This will also be a forum for you in case you have baseball related items you are looking to sell to other BVB members (Equipment, memorabilia, etc.) or if you have questions you wish to have addressed.

In League News, we just wanted to remind everyone that the All-Star Game is fast approaching and will be held on Sunday July 3rd. This year, the Home Run Derby will be held on the same day starting at 5 pm on Sunday July 3rd to be followed by the game itself which will start at 7:30.

All in all, after a 10-6 Team Rusty win, it was a fun night with everyone contributing and enjoying a highly entertaining game from start to finish.

Congratulations to all!!

Here is a recap of Day 6:

The Cubs and Hobos played another tight game last night with the Hobos ending the series with a 7-3 win in Game #4.

Congratulations to the Cubs on a fine season and a great series. The Hobos will now face the Mudhens in the 2nd round because....

The Mudhens jumped out to an early 6-0 lead in the top of the 1st but the Jays responded with 3 in the bottom half. The Mudhens surged ahead again in the top of the 2nd with 4 more and then another in the 3rd inning before the Jays fought back with a 6 spot of their own to cut the lead to 11-9 heading into the 5th.

The Mudhens would tack on additional runs in the next few innings and the Jays offence would dry up as the Mudhens won 16-9 in a slugfest.

Congratulations go out to the Jays on battling on through a trying season for them.

Also of note, last night was the Final BVB Game for #24 Brian Ferguson who will be moving his entire family to Texas as of this weekend. Poky and the Mudhens had a little surprise going away present for him last night.

Here are our current Playoff Home Run Leaders;

With Round #1 in the books, we turn our attention now to Round #2 which starts Sunday August 28th.

We have 4 teams left fighting it out and both series kick off at Nelson Park with the Braves vs. Cardinals playing at 4 pm followed by the Mudhens vs. the Hobos at 7 pm.

Good luck to all 4 teams!!!

Day 4 of our Semi-Finals went Friday night and the Hobos were on their game knocking out the Top Seeded Mudhens and winning their series 3 games to 1.

Congratulations to the Mudhens on a great season.

The Hobos now face the Braves in the Finals which started Sunday night.

If the Hobos win tonight, then Game #1 of the Finals is set for Sunday at 4 pm.

Stay tuned for more updates...

Here are our up to date Home Run Leaders for the 2016 Playoffs;

Game #3 last night was a classic. The Braves and Hobos battled all night alternating between defensive gems and outstanding pitching. The score was tied 1-1 heading into the 6th inning after Mark Thomas and Manz had held the Braves down most of the night.

The Braves were able to scratch out a pair of runs in that 6th inning to give them a 3-1 before Nathan Penrose came on in the 7th and shut the door on what has been a phenomenal series filled with huge swings in momentum.

Game #4 (what could be the FINAL game of the year) is set for Tuesday night with the Braves now leading the series 2-1.

We will be holding our AGM Wednesday November 16th, 2016.

The meeting will begin promptly at 8:00 PM at the Black Bull located on 1124 Guelph Line

The AGM will follow the league’s standard agenda, featuring year-end reports from the Board of Directors in respect of the major areas of responsibility, fielding of questions/comments from the membership regarding league operations and voting to install the 2017 Board of Directors.

We will also be finalizing this year's BVB Hall of Fame Candidates at the meeting from the list of nominees available.

The Burlington Herd IBL team has extended a special entry offer to their fundraiser Golf Tournament.
The event will include Breakfast, Lunch, Cart, Prizes, Hole Contests and access to a large Silent Auction of special items and sports memorabilia.
To register, contact Jason McKay, Dan Pokoradi or info@burlingtonherd.com - 905-630-9036

The 2017 Regular Season is now down to 1 Final Game.

Game #1 of the Finals went to the Hobos as they pulled out a walk off 8-7 win.

Game #2 the Hobos had a chance to take a 2-0 commanding lead. It was a tight game, tied at 2 going into the 5th when the Braves broke it open. The final score was 10-2 for the Braves evening the Series at 1.

Game #3 went on Sunday September 24th at Nelson Park at 7 pm and it was another back and forth affair which ended with the Hobos taking the lead in the top of the 7th before hanging on to take a 2-1 Series lead.

Game #4 was a seesaw affair, with multiple lead changes and both teams playing not to lose as much as to win the game. With the Braves up by 1 in the top of the 7th, no one on and 2 out, the game was seemingly over but an error gave the Hobos new life and the scored a pair to take the lead. In the bottom of the 7th, with 1 out and runners on 1st and 3rd, an error by the Hobos allowed the Braves to tie the game and force extra innings.

After Stephen Paige got out of another tight jam in the top of the 8th (runners on 1st and 2nd with none out) unscathed, the Braves loaded the bases with none out and won it on a walk off Sac Fly by Mike Sutton.

The series is now tied at 2 with the 5th and deciding game to be held Friday September 29th at Nelson Park.

In yet another gut wrenching game, the Braves and Hobos locked horns on Friday September 29th with the League Championship on the line. The Braves struck early and by the 4th inning, they were up 4-1 and seemingly in control until the bottom of the 7th when the Hobos Rallied and tied the game on a 2 out, 2 run single by Mark Thomas.

With all the momentum seemingly on the Hobos side heading into extra innings, the Braves rallied in the top of the 8th and scored 5 runs to take a commanding 9-4 lead.

The Hobos would not give it up that easily as they got their first 2 men aboard with none out and started another rally of their own. After scoring a pair and having the Braves Stephen Paige battle his way to 2 out and runners on the corners, the Braves were finally able to put the game away and win the title on a fielders choice put out at 2nd base.

Congratulations to both teams on a hard fought 5 game series which saw 4 of the 5 games decided in the last inning of the game and 2 of those games go to extra innings.

The Braves are now back to back Champions. Congratulations go out to Mike Gionas and his team. Repeating is not an easy feat.

Look for an article to appear in the Burlington Post (Already available online https://www.insidehalton.com/sports-story/7589842-braves-retain-burlington-vintage-baseball-title-with-extra-inning-win/ ).

Game #1 - Tuesday September 3rd - Brewers 11-8 Over Cardinals

Key Moment: Cardinals were up 8-7 in the top of the 7th with a runner on for the Brewers and no one out when the rains came. After a delay, the Brewers were rejuvenated and came out and put up a 4 spot to take the lead which they were able to hang on to for the win.

Game #2 - Friday September 6th - Cardinals 10-0 Over Brewers

Key Moment: Cardinals were in control of the game right from the start as Colameco hit a deep dinger in the bottom of the first. From that point on, they never looked back. Cooney tossed 4 strong innings giving up no runs on 2 hits as the Cards evened the series at a game a piece.

Game #3 - Sunday September 8th - Cardinals 11-0 Over Brewers

Key Moment: It was more of the same in Game #3 as the Cardinals pitching held the strong Brewers hitting line up in check. Lareau was dominant in 4 shut out innings while Rusty had 4 RBI's including a back breaking 2 RBI double that essentially put the game out of reach. Tim Barnes and Neil Frazier also had a pair of hits a piece as the Cardinals have fully rebounded to take a 2-1 series lead.

Game #4 - Tuesday September 10th - Brewers 3 - 1 Over Cardinals

Key Moment: In possibly the quickest full game of the playoffs (an hour and 50 minutes), the Brewers clawed back into the series with a big Game #4 win Tuesday night. The player of the game was Jim Fay as not only did he pitch 4 solid innings but he also had the key hit in the bottom of the first inning with the bases loaded and 2 out scoring a pair. The Brewers would score and add on run in the 6th to help hold off the Cardinals and tie up the Series.

Game #5 - Friday September 13th - Cardinals 11 - 1 Over Brewers

Key Moment: A close game was blown apart in the bottom of the 5th when the Cardinals essentially sealed the win with 3 runs. Heading into the inning up 4-0, the Cards put the game away with a 3 spot to put themselves up 7-0 going into the 6th. Andy Noble led the way with 3 RBI with Russ, Gosselin and Cooney each adding a pair as the Cards took command of the Series.

Game #6 - Sunday September 15th - Cardinals 9 - 5 Over Brewers

Key Moment: Another Finals Series win for the Cardinals was in reach as the night began and they went for it early on jumping on Brewers starting Pitcher Jim Fay early and often. Up 6-1 after 2 innings, the game seemed to be theirs for the taking until the Brewers fought back with a run in the 3rd and 3 in the bottom of the 4th to cut the lead to 7-4 but the Cardinals proceeded to put up another pair of insurance runs in the top of the 5th and then cruised the rest of the way earning their 2019 Crown as Champions once again. Congratulations to both teams on a hard fought series.

Tier #2: (Best of 5 Series)

 Mudhens Win Series 3-1

Game #1 - Mudhens 3-0 Over Cubs

Key Moment: In a tight game all around, the Cubs Travis Lamoreaux had potentially the "Catch of the Year" while playing Centre Field. It was in the bottom of the 3rd inning, bases loaded for the Mudhens and 2 out. The Mudhens were already up 1-0 and looking to break the game wide open when a lined shot into the gap in centre was snagged on a head-long, Kevin Pillar-esque diving grab by Travis to end the inning and keep the game within reach. Ultimately, the Mudhens would tack on a pair of additional runs later in the game but the Cubs showed that they are not going to go away in this series as they scattered 8 hits and left the bases loaded twice themselves.

Game #2 - Friday September 6th - Cubs 12-6 Over Mudhens

Key Moment: If you to ask me, Travis Lamoreaux of the Cubs seems to be leading the charge for MVP of this series, but lets start at the beginning with how this game unfolded. In a game that was full of momentum swings back and forth, it was the Cubs who came out strong early on as they chipped out a 4-0 lead through 2 1/2 innings. Then the first momentum swing of the game hit as the Mudhens stormed back with a 5 run bottom of the 3rd (highlighted by a 3 run shot by Colin Cummins). The Cubs rallied to retake the lead and never look back highlighted by the biggest hit of the game; a 3 run Triple by Travis that essentially sealed the victory for the Cubs.

Game #3 - Sunday September 8th - Mudhens 4-1  Over Cubs

Key Moment: In another tightly contested game, the Cubs and Mudhens both displayed exactly why they made it to the finals in a well pitched and defended game by both. Kevin Moore pitched 4 solid innings but came away with the "L" as he gave up key RBI knocks by both Rick Boutilier and Mark Caron. Despite being out hit 8-4, the Mudhens pulled out a huge win and are now 1 win away from being crowned Tier 2 Champions.

Game #4 - Friday September 13th - Mudhens  12 - 7 Cubs

Key Moment: In case you had not heard, the Cubs and Mudhens were locked in yet another tightly played contest. Up until the 4th inning, the Mudhens were up 1-0 in a well played seesaw battle. Then the floodgates opened up and both teams started scoring. The Mudhens put up a 5 spot in the top of the 4th before the Cubs responded with 3 runs of their own in the bottom half. The two teams would then exchange multiple runs again in the 6th inning (5 more for the Mudhens with the Cubs responding with 4 of their own) but the deficit was just too wide at that point as the Mudhens would tack on another run in the top of the 7th and then put the Cubs away with a scoreless bottom of the 7th to claim the Tier 2 Championship. It was a well played series by both teams highlighted by some great pitching and Defence. Congrats to both teams.

2020 COVID-19 Update

Hello Everyone

While we all sit at home and wait out this horrendous Virus, there is still work to be done if we do plan on having a season at all this year.

With that in mind, in case you have not heard, the City of Burlington will NOT be issuing any park permits until at least the end of June 2020.

We have had to start making contingency plans and looking into other options in case the City decides to extend this lockout period.

The Board has had some preliminary discussions about the matter and we will be communicating some of the options available to the Team GM's in the coming weeks.

Rest assured, we are doing everything we can to have a safe season even if it is shorter in duration then our normal seasons are.

We will be in touch with ALL GM's within the next 2 to 3 weeks regarding our fall back options but it is our full intention to have a season still this year.

President, Burlington Vintage Baseball League

Welcome to 2020 where you have to roll with the strange and do the best you can.

Season (FINALLY) starts Sunday!

2020 Playoffs!

With the Final game of our shortened season scheduled for tomorrow evening, the Playoff schedule is now nearly ready with 3 of the 5 teams secured in their seeding.

Just a reminder that these playoffs are set to be best 2 out of 3 and the 4th and 5th place teams will be playing a Wild Card game to secure the final playoff spot.

Tuesday's game between the Braves and Blue Jays will determine who will be the #3 and #4 Seed with the Winner set to play the Mudhens and the loser having to play the Cubs in the Wild Card game September 8th.

UPDATE - The Braves defeated the Blue Jays in come from behind fashion scoring 3 runs in the top of the 7th to squeak out a 5-4 win and secure 3rd.

The Blue Jays defeated the Cubs in the Wild Card game 7-1 to finalize the 4th and final playoff spot. They take on the Cardinals starting September 11th at 7 pm at Cosgrove (Nelson) Park. The Mudhens and Braves start their series Friday night at 7 pm at Millcroft Park D1.

Congratulations go out to the Cardinals for winning the Final Series 2-0 over the Braves. A fine season by both teams under difficult circumstances.

We were able to get our 8 game season and playoff in just under the wire as COVID regulations have been imposed once again.

We have learned quite a bit about ourselves and what we as a league are capable of doing in trying times. It took a colossal effort to get us ready to have the abbreviated season we did and I would like to personally thank each and every one of you, our member teams, for doing your part to ensure we were following the city imposed rules throughout our shortened season.

It too a monstrous effort on the Part of Jason McKay for us to be able to pull off what we did so my hats off to you Jason.

Poky, thank you as well for always being the beating heart of the league and knowing how to balance what we can and what we should do.

Thank you to the Board for the support.

We will not be able to have an in-person AGM this year so we will coordinate to do so virtually within the next 3 to 4 weeks. Poky will send out an email to all about it.

Our 2020 Season is now in the books and the lessons we have learned will only help us improve as a league moving forward.

2021 Season Kickoff

Good morning,

With the Super Bowl now out of the way, its time to turn our attention back towards Baseball. Pitchers and Catchers report for Spring Training in less then a week so we are now officially open for business as well.

We are waiting to hear back from the city about Permits but it is our intention to have a full season in 2021. We were the ONLY league in the area that was able to successfully have any semblance of a season last year and as such, we are completely confident in our ability to do the same again this season.

We have heard back from several teams and are awaiting final confirmation from a couple of others. At the same time, we are open to adding teams and would be happy to listen to any interested parties wanting to join the BVB this season.

The crack of the bat, the smell of freshly cut grass, blue skies and sunshine are just around the corner. If you close you eyes, you can almost hear it and the game playing out in your head....

2021 Season Start Scheduled

We are within 3 weeks of the start of the 2021 season.

We are looking at first pitch to be thrown on Tuesday July 6th. The city is in the process of reviewing our Return to Play plan (which will be posted on our site in the coming days) and once that review is confirmed to adhere to their standards, we will be moving ahead with our estimated July 6th date.

We would like to welcome our newest team, the Ducks operated by GM Tim Calaiezzi.  The team is structured from some new faces from the area as well as some familiar players from BVB past.

This will give us a total of 6 teams for this season and we are looking at playing a 15 game season.

Other details will be confirmed in the coming days.

We are happy to confirm that we will be returning to a nearly 100% schedule compared to non-Covid years.

Check back for more updates soon.

Playoffs are here and they start tonight as the Cards will face the Ducks and the Mudhens will take on the Braves. In the Consolation Playoff round, it will be the Cubs and Blue Jays starting on Friday. All series in the First and consolation round are best of 3.

Congratulations go out to both the Reds and Cardinals for what will go down as one of (if not THE BEST) Finals series in the history of our League.

Games #1 and #2

Both were absolute classics with the Reds taking Game #1 by a score of 2-1 with Chris Bedford outdueling Matt Lareau. The Cards took Game #2 by a score of 3-2 With Chris Cooney matching Dylan Grosul pitch for pitch and the Cards pulling it out with a Game Winning single in the 7th inning by Russ Pereira set up by hits from John McNeil and Jamie Steiva.

Both games saw incredible pitching performances (all 4 pitchers threw complete games for their teams), great "D" and timely hitting.

Game #3

This was a see-saw affair that saw multiple lead changes; 2-0 Reds early followed by the Cards storming back to take a 6-2 lead. The Reds then battled back and led 8-6 before the Cards took a 9-8 lead in the Top of the 6th. The Reds then ended the back and forth by going ahead 10-9 in the Bottom of the 6th. Penrose then came out and closed out the Top of the 7th to give the Reds a 2-1 Series lead. Mueller and Twiggy were the startign pitchers and despite pitching well, both saw rare defensive lapses cost them run after run.

Game #4

This game was a continuation of how things had gone in Game #3. Lareau for the Cards and Jake Roberts for the Reds were victimized by more defensive lapses. Early on, the Reds had their hitting shoes on and took a 5-1 lead after 2. That was when the Cards roared back with a 6 spot of their own to take a 7-5 lead. From then on, they never looked back as Lareau was able to shut them down the rest of the way and the Cards pulled away winning 12-6.

This game was highlighted by some great defencive plays, most notably Fraser and Cooney from the Cards at Short and 3B respectively with a couple of highlight reel plays. On a down note, John McNeil injured his knee on an innocent can of corn in Left and, despite the injury, he was able to key a rally in the 6th that put the game away with a big bouncing single to left field before pulling himself from the game and ending his playoffs.

Game #5

In what was a re-match of the Game #2 starting pitchers, Cooney vs. Grosul was every bit as good. Each of them pitched extremely well, only allowing runs to be scored in one of their innings pitched in the game. The Reds took an early 4-0 lead on some clutch and timely hitting, while the Cards battled back and seemed to have runners on in nearly every inning before getting a couple of men on in the top of the 5th. That was when Gilley drilled a 3 run bomb to get them back into the game.

Despite having the bases loaded in the Top of the 6th with one out, the Cards were unable to tie it up. Penrose came in to close in the top of the 7th and after a fly out to right he finished the game with back to back K's to give the Reds the series.

Congratulations go out to Andrew Sorochan and the Reds for being the Top Regular Season Team & Playoff Champion.

As voted on by his teammates, the Co-MVP's of the Finals were Chris Bedford and Dylan Grosul

New 2016 Champs Crowned!!!

2016 CHAMPS!!!

Game #4 was last night with the Braves leading the Hobos in the Final Series 2 games to 1. Right from the opening pitch, the Braves were intent on imposing their will. By the time it was the 4th inning, they were up 8-0 with Catcher Josh Ware leading the way with a pair of 2 run homers. He would finish the night 3-3 with 2 HRs, 4 RBI's and 3 runs scored in a 13-2 win for the Braves as they clinched their first BVB Championship.

Hats off to the Hobos who had a great playoff run but ran into a team that lost only 1 playoff game in their 3 series combined this year. T-Bone, Hooper and the guys did a great job all year long. Congrats on a great season.

What an amazing playoff run by the Braves this year. They were on a mission and played like it. Congratulations to Mike Gionas, Gus and the rest of the team. They are our 2016 Champs! The Braves
