2015 WI District 2 Baseball 11-12 Tournament

July 7, 2015

Appleton Little League hosts the 2015 Little League Baseball Wisconsin District 2 11-12 Tournament, from July 7-11, in a best-of-5 series between Appleton American and Appleton National.

All games will be played at Tipton Field (USA #1) at Scheels USA Youth Sports Complex, with start times of 7:30 for Games 1, 3, & 5, and 5:30 for Games 2 & 4 (games 4, 5, if needed). The series-winning team advances to the State Tournament, July 25-29, hosted by District 6 in Kenosha.

Thursday, July 30Appleton National 11-12 Baseball can't capture shootout, loses 10-8 to Burlington

Congratulations, National, for a great run to the semifinal round of the State Tournament and on your Appleton Little League careers!

Thursday, July 9:
Congratulations to Appleton National for sweeping the 5-game series over Appleton American in 3 games! They move on to the State Tournament in Kenosha, starting Saturday, July 25. Good luck, National!

2015 Baseball 12U City Series

July 7, 2015

The Appleton Series premiers in 2015, matching 12-and-under (12U) American League All-Stars vs. National League All-Stars, in a best-of-5 game series.

All games will be played at Tipton Field (USA #1) at Scheels USA Youth Sports Complex, with start times of 5:30 for Games 1, 3, & 5, and 7:30 for Games 2 & 4 (games 4, 5, if needed).

Friday, July 9:
Congratulations to Appleton National for winning the inaugural Appleton Series over Appleton American, 3 games to 2. American came back from a 2-0 Series deficit, with a win Thursday and shutout victory early Friday, to force a decisive and final Championship Game #5; however, National was tough in the nightcap, shutting out American 9-0.

Thursday, July 9:
Appleton National leads the Series 2 games to 1 over Appleton American. The cross-town opponents face off in Game 4 Friday at 5:30. If National wins, they claim victory in the Series; if American wins, the teams rematch in a double header afterward, at 7:30.

Tuesday, July 7:
Best-of-5 Series Tournament play begins at 5:30 pm, at Scheels USA Youth Sports Complex

 

2015 WI District 2 Softball Tournaments

July 8, 2015

Little League Softball Wisconsin District 2 tournaments for 11-12 and 9-10 age groups ran July 8 thru July 14, between Appleton American East, Appleton National North, and Appleton National West.

All games were played at Kratzer Field (USA #2) at Scheels USA Youth Sports Complex, with 9-10 (Minors) playing at 5:30, followed by 11-12 (Majors), at 7:30. A round-robin format of play determined who plays in the District Championship games, for a trip to State!

Tuesday, July 28:
Appleton American East 11-12 Softball fell to Michigan-Bay County, 6-2 this evening. American East finished their post-season run with a 5-3 record, wrapping up pool play at the Central Region Tournament in Indianapolis, after previously winning the District 2 and State Tournaments.

Great season, 11-12 American East team!

Sunday, July 19:
Congrats, Appleton American East for winning the Major Division (11-12) Wisconsin State Tournament in South Milwaukee! They move on to the Little League Softball Central Tournament, in Indianapolis, Indiana! Good luck at the Regional, girls!

Tuesday, July 14:
Congratulations to Appleton National North 9-10 and Appleton American East 11-12 for winning District 2 SB Tournaments! Good luck at State!

Thursday, July 9:
With both American East and National North teams in Minors and Majors having 1-0 records in Pool Play, their games against each other Monday, 7/13 sets up rematches in the District Championships on Tuesday, 7/14. Good luck to all four teams!

Wednesday, July 8:
Round-robin play begins with American East playing National West. Minors game starts at 5:30, followed by Majors at 7:30.

Tuesday, July 28:
Appleton National 10-11 Baseball fell 10-8 this evening, after big WI District 4 - Madison Kennedy comeback. Appleton National finished their post-season run with a 4-3 record, after completing pool play at the State Tournament in Waupun.

2015 Appleton Cup 9U Baseball Tournament

July 18, 2015

The 5th Annual Appleton Cup is a round-robin tournament that culminates in a championship game, with the two winners of pool play. There is a traveling trophy on which the winning team is added to each year. This event is for players ages 8-9 who played in our Minors Baseball Division in the regular season.

Games between American League All-Stars, National League "Blue" All-Stars,and National League "White" All-Stars were played at Kratzer Field (USA #2) at Scheels USA Youth Sports Complex, on Friday and Saturday, July 17-18.

Saturday, July 18:
Congratulations to Appleton American 9U ALL-Stars for capturing the 2015 Appleton Cup title! What a great, tournament, too! All 5 games were decided by the slimmest of margins, by one run each!

2015 Baseball Majors City Tournament

June 24, 2015

Appleton Little League Majors Baseball City Tournament runs June 24, 25, 29, and July 1, with rain dates being the following days. View the FINAL tournament bracket.

Wednesday, July 1:
Congrats to American Overhead Door for winning the Appleton Little League Majors Baseball City Championship and to runner-up ThedaCare! Also, kudos to 3rd place JD's Drive-In for winning the 3rd place game over a great Kolosso Toyota team!

Monday, June 29:
Congratulations to American Overhead Door for winning the National Majors Championship/City Tournament Semifinal game and ThedaCare doing the same for American. They face each other for the City Championship Wednesday, July 1 at Tipton Field (USA #1) at Scheels USA Youth Sports Complex at 7:30 pm.
Kolosso Toyota and JD's Drive In play for 3rd Place in the City Wednesday at 5:30 pm. Stop out to see the best of the best of 2015!

Thursday, June 25:
The top four seeds have advanced to the finals of the City Tournament! Congratulations to American Overhead Door and Kolosso Toyota in the National division and JD's Drive In and ThedaCare in American. The battles for division champions take place Monday, 6/29 at Tipton Field (USA #1) at Scheels USA Youth Sports Complex, with the National Championship Game at 5:30, followed by the American Championship Game at 7:30.

The winners Monday will play in the City Championship Game on Wednesday, July 1 at 7:30, while the runners-up Monday will face off in the 3rd Place Game Wednesday at 5:30.

Wednesday, June 24:
Congratulations to National first round winners, NEW Anesthesiology, Pizza King, and Kolosso Toyota. Congrats to American winners, Cooney's, Timber Rattlers, and ThedaCare.

Tuesday, June 22:
Twelve of the fourteen American and National teams kick off play Wednesday at fields throughout the city, with #1 seeds JD's Drive-In and American Overhead Door earning byes and beginning play Thursday. Note: seeds are based off of in-division play, not overall record

Appleton Little League Majors & Minors Softball City Tournaments ran from June 23 thru June 25. View the FINAL tournament bracket.

Thursday, June 25:
Congratulations to Play It Again Sports for winning the Majors Softball City Championship and J&B Trophy for being back-to-back Minors Champions!

Wednesday, June 24:
The Finals are set! The top teams from the regular season will face off in the City Tournament Championship games Thursday evening! Congratulations to J&B Trophy and U.S. Bank, who play at 4:00. Congratulations to Majors teams Timber Rattlers and Play It Again Sports for winning their semifinal games; they wrap up the regular softball seasons, with the first pitch at 6:00. Stop out at Appleton North JV Softball Field to take in the action!

Tuesday, June 23:
All Minors teams kicked off play Tuesday at Highlands Elementary and Madison and Roosevelt Middle Schools. Four of the six Majors teams played, with top seeds Timber Rattlers and Play It Again Sports earning byes, and begin play Wednesday.

Congratulations to Kolosso Toyota and VFW Ladies Auxiliary for winning their first round Majors games and J&B Trophy, Flex-Staff, Bergstrom Automotive, and U.S. Bank for winning their first round Minors games!

June 29, 2015

Appleton Little League Minors Baseball City Tournament runs June 29 (4 Nat'l teams), 30, July 2, 7, and 9, with rain dates being the following days. View the FINAL tournament bracket.

Thursday, July 9:
Bollenbeck Law won the 2015 Minors Baseball City Championship over House of Flooring, 5-1, while Good Company defeated Carroll Law, taking 2 extra innings to do so, with an 11-8 score! Congratulations!

Tuesday, July 7:
Congratulations to House of Flooring and Bollenbeck Law for winning their American and National League Championships! They face off in the City Championship Game Thursday, July 9 at Nienhaus Sports Complex at 7:30. Earlier Thursday, at 5:30, we'll see American League runner-up, Good Company face off against their National counterpart, Carroll Law, in the 3rd Place Game. Stop out and see the best of the best in Minors Baseball wrap up their 2015 regular season!

Thursday, July 2 (updated 7/6, with field info):
The final 4 teams are set! Congrats to Good Company and House of Flooring for advancing in the American bracket, while Bollenbeck Law and Carroll Law took care of business in National.

City Semifinal Games will be played Tuesday, July 7, at 5:45, with the American Championship at Lions Park, with #1 seed, Good Company facing off against #2 seed, House of Flooring; on the National side, it's a not-so-legal battle at Einstein Park, between #2 seed, Bollenbeck Law and #4 seed, Carroll Law. The League runners-up play Thursday, July 9 at Nienhaus Sports Complex at 5:30, followed by the League Champions vying for the City Championship at 7:30.

Tuesday, June 30:
Congrats to American winners House of FlooringBackyard Hackers, and TruGreen, as well as National winners advancing to the next round, Bollenbeck Law, Apple Creek Orthodontics, Valley Gasket, and Carroll Law.

Monday, June 29:
Congratulations to Valley Gasket and BioLife Plasma Services for winning their opening round games for National. Wednesday will offer a full slate of City Tournament games, with National playing 4 and American playing 3, at fields throughout the city.

Sunday, June 28:
The brackets are posted and all games have been uploaded. National seeds 7-10 open play Monday at Kratzer Field (USA #2), while 14 American and National teams play Tuesday throughout the City.

2015 Baseball Rookie City Tournament

July 13, 2015

Appleton Little League Rookie Baseball City Tournament began"pool play" July 13-15, with all 24 teams playing each day, at 5:15 or 7:00. The top 16 teams advanced to Championship Bracket play, July 20-23. View the tournament rules and the final results of the tournament bracket and pool schedule.

Thursday, July 23:
Congratulations to our trophy winners: 1st Place, Funset Boulevard;2nd Place, The Bulldog Landscaping; 3rd Place, Four Seasons Heating and Cooling; and 4th Place, The Pool Team!

Wednesday, July 22
Championship Thursday is all set! American League teams Pool Team and,Four Seasons will face off at 5:30 in the 3rd Place Game, followed by National League teams Funset Boulevard, and Bulldog Landscaping in the Championship Game at 7:30. Good luck to all teams!

Tuesday, July 21
Congratulations to Pool Team, Funset Boulevard, Four Seasons, and Bulldog Landscaping for earning at least a top 4 finish among 24 teams in this year's City Tournament! The winners of Wednesday's games play in the Championship Game 7:30 Thursday night at Kratzer Field (USA #2) at Scheels USA Youth Sports Complex, while the runners-up compete for 3rd place at 5:30.

Thursday, July 16
The Championship Bracket first round pairings are set! Good luck to the 16 teams, as they play to advance to Thursday!

Monday, July 13
9 of 12 first-day games of pool play completed, while 3 of 12 were suspended, due to lightning and rain. The suspended games will likely be made up Thursday, July 16. Stay tuned for details.

Tuesday, July 7:
Fields have been assigned to each game. Look at the updated pool play schedule or your individual team's schedule to see where you play. Tip: Since many of the fields are ones you haven't played at this year, when viewing your schedule, click on the name of the field (venue) to get the street address and directions.

2015 S2 Baseball Tournament

August 6, 2015

The 2015 Appleton Little League S2 Baseball (double elimination) Tournament runs from Thursday, August 6 to Thursday, August 13, and officially closes the 2015 ALL season. All games will be played at Scheels USA Youth Sports Complex. View the final tournament bracket.

Thursday, August 14
Congratulations to Dodgers for capturing the 2015 S2 Tournament Championship! They won a very close second title game against Rockies, 9-8. Earlier in the evening, during a 15-total run 4th inning, Rockies walloped Dodgers 21-9.

Thursday, August 13
For Championship Thursday, #1 seed, Dodgers play #2 seed, Rockies at Tipton Field (USA1) at 5:30. If Dodgers win, they’ll capture the 2015 S2 Championship; if Rockies win, it’ll force a decisive Championship Game, around 7:30. Good luck to both teams!

Tuesday, August 11
There were three GREAT games Tuesday, which any team could’ve won, but unfortunately only two go through to Championship Thursday. Congratulations, Royals, Dodgers, and Rockies, for your wins Tuesday and kudos to Rays and Royals for great finishes to your seasons!

Monday, August 10
Congratulations to Dodgers, Rockies, Royals, and Rays for winning their 2nd round games Monday. Congrats to Angels and Brewers on a great season, too!

On Tuesday at 5:30, Dodgers will be home against the Rockies at Tipton Field (USA1), while Royals host Rays at Kratzer Field (USA2).

The winner of Tuesday's Dodgers/Rockies game advances to the Championship game Thursday at 5:30, while the loser plays their second game of a double header at 7:30, home against the winner of the Royals/Rays (who will also be playing their second of two games Tuesday). The winner of the 7:30 game advances to Thursday's Championship game.

Thursday, August 6
Congratulations to Brewers and Angels for winning their opening round games! They advance in the winners' bracket and will face Rockies and Dodgers, respectively, Monday at 5:30. At 7:30 Monday, Royals will face the loser of the earlier Dodgers/Angels game, while Rays will take on the loser of the Rockies/Brewers game.

Tuesday, August 4
The S2 regular season has wrapped and the tournament bracket is now set! Congratulations to top seeds Dodgers and Rockies for earning byes into the 2nd round. All other teams open play Thursday at 5:30 pm.

Monday, August 3
The bracket has been posted and all games have been uploaded. Teams will be filled in after the S2 regular season completes and seeding is determined, expected Wednesday morning, 8/5. Seeds 3-6 open play Thursday at 5:30, at Scheels USA Youth Sports Complex.
