Girls Travel Teams
2021 Season

Though our tryouts have been completed we could still use additional 5th & 6th grade girls and will always consider new talent in other divisions looking for a home!

What Are We Looking For?

Unlike many programs, we aren't looking for the superstar that will carry the team. We're looking for humble, hard working kids that appreciate when others invest in their lives - kids that are a joy to coach and who love playing for and with each other. The kind of player we are looking for has been summed up best by former Wisconsin head coach and recent Hall of Fame inductee, Bo Ryan.

"I recruit hungry kids, kids that love the game and want to get better and feel they have more questions than answers. It is very hard to find, but we've got 'em."

 - Bo Ryan

And we've got 'em too, but could use several more of the same mindset.

As was the case with our previous seasons, the emphasis will be on player development over winning tournaments. We'll play in several tournaments but will practice more than we play in order to give pressure free opportunities for our girls to try new things and improve their game. For more details about the program please contact Bill Formella @ bformella@swishatlanta.com or call (770) 995-0198.

"Playing basketball in Rec leagues for several years only took my daughter's skills to a certain level. However, after several camps and clinics her skill level and confidence have dramatically improved. She was only one of two 7th graders to make her middle school team. Thanks for all of your help. I would recommend Swish Atlanta to anyone."

"My daughter first began playing basketball in the fall of her 6th grade year, November 2012. She worked with Coach Formella and Swish Atlanta for the next 24 months and became the starting point guard for her middle school team in 8th grade, October 2014.

Coach Formella taught her how to shoot with proper techniques which has built her confidence in the game of basketball. Her ball handling skills are amazing. The developmental programs run by Coach Formella have transformed her skills so quickly. Other parents have come up to me and asked how long my daughter has played the game and, when I tell them 2 years, they are shocked. I highly recommend Coach Formella to any kids that want to learn how to play the game of basketball."
