Summer/Fall Footer League Schedule Released

The Summer/Fall 2008 Footer League schedule has been completed, and we will now re-start Monday Septemeber 9th.
Here is the schedule for Monday, September 9th:
7:00PM: Barking Ducks versus The Eagles
8:00PM: Big Styk Phantoms versus Barking Ducks
9:00PM: The Free Agents versus The Knights

Summer 08 Roller Playoffs

The Adams and Norris Divisions will play one another for the Russell Cup. Here is the schedule of events for the coming weeks:
Thursday, September 4th
Russell Cup Championship
7:00PM - Dragons versus Cedars - Game 1
8:30PM - Dragons versus Cedars - Game 2
10:00PM - Game 3 (if necessary)
2008 Fall Youth Programs
As the end to the winter weather looms, we will soon be building the all-new hockey rink, which means that programs will be starting up soon! Here is a tentative list of all the programs that we will be offering (for those of you that have been involved in programs past, you will realize that many of these programs are new offerings!):
 Junior Penguins Youth Hockey Program (Ages 5 to 8)
Participants will learn basic skills associated with hockey such as handling, passing, shooting and defense. We will play a variety
of hockey games that will help the kids learn basic skills while having fun at the same time. The next 7 week session begins SEPTEMBER 13th and is held on Saturdays at 11 AM. The cost is $30 for members and $65 for non-members.
Junior Penguins Youth Hockey League (Ages 9 to 12)
Instructional league with noncompetitive flow. Each week teams will have a short practice and a game. As the season progresses, teams will spend less time practicing and more time playing games. Parents are welcome and encouraged to volunteer coach for your sons and daughters. Next session begins SEPTEMBER 13th class held on Saturdays at 12 PM. The cost is $30 for members and $65 for non-members.

Under 18 Roller Hockey League (Ages 15 to 18)
Roller hockey league for high school aged participants played 1 night a week.
Leagues start: August 8th (summer), September 20th (fall)
Fee: $30/player
Adult Roller Hockey League (Ages 18 and up)
The most popular current program played two nights a week. Many players and teams travel from outside of New Castle to participate in this competitive league.
Leagues start: July 15th (summer)
Fee: $35/player
Adult Footer League (Ages 18 and up)
Same league format as the Adult Roller league with the exception that players play without rollerblades. This program has also brought many players from outside of New Castle.
Leagues start: August 18th (summer)
Fee: $35/player.
Birthday Parties at the Rink (All Ages)
Full package parties for hockey fans to come enjoy the facility play hockey, skate around listen to their favorite music with their friends. Parties are available Wednesday night, Saturday afternoon, or by appointment. The party includes an hour and a half on the rink and an hour in the picnic area. The YMCA will take care of your party supplies. Call the YMCA for more information or to book a party.
Summer 08 Roller Schedule Released

The schedule for the Summer 2008 Adult Roller Hockey session has been completed and posted online with games starting Tuesday, July 15th. We will be doing a 3-division setup similar to what we did last year (division names are the same). Teams will play the other teams in their division twice (with the exception of Norris Division teams that will occasionally play one another three times). The Adams Division will be the 5 most competitive teams, Norris Division will be the four next teams, and then the Patrick Division is the remaining 5 teams. Here is a team listing for each division (in no particular order):

Playoff-eligible teams will be determined as follows:
-Teams 1-5 in the Adams Division will be eligible for playoffs
-Teams 1-2 in the Norris Division will be eligible for the playoffs
-Team #1 in the Patrick Division will be eligible for the playoffs
As per the same with last session, waivers/liabilities forms for players who haven't filled them out yet this year are due before they step on the deck! Also, the $35/player league fee is due before the start of the team's second game, NO EXCEPTIONS!
Also, a reminder for all captains. It is your responsibility to:
-Communicate with league officials, game officials and team members before, during and after games
-Maintain appropriate conduct from your team and spectators. This includes language, gestures and actions!
-Fill out your roster on the scoresheet before the drop of the ball (EVERY GAME!)
-Contact a league official two (2) days in advance if you cannot make a game for (what the league will deem as) an important reason.
