Hi Fellas,

Most of you who have played some vintage baseball have passed through Welland and played at Burgar Park at some point. Here's a pic of this venerable old park.

A tiny bit of history. The park was built in 1946 – SAL “THE BARBER” MAGLIE pitched for the Welland team then before getting to the MLB New York Giants. High spectator grandstands then circled all around the infield between short LF & 1B

The park is currently used by Welland minor baseball & is home of the Welland Legends. Sadly, the park is closed for the 2020 season because of Covid. Hopfully next year it will once again hear the sounds of baseball and where we can all resume playing this great game.
