7:30pm start times begin July 13, 2009
The MIBL
Executive decided to advance the start times for regular season games as of
July 13, 2009. The change was a result
of a few team’s difficulty to perform home team responsibilities and have the necessary
warm-up time prior to some games. The addition of the batter’s box rule has
provided a significant change in the length of the game to justify moving the
start time up and still finish the games at a reasonable time.

7 Inning Games
On Friday
June 12, 2009 the MIBL Board voted in favor of finishing the 2009 season using
7 inning games.
Although
the Board ruled in favor of 7 inning games, the 9 inning experiment appeared to
be a success. Most games were completed within 3 hours and went the full 9
innings. The feeling around the league is the 2009 AGM will have a lengthy
debate to adopt the 9 inning game for the entire 2010 season.

Dalhousie University Baseball Club
The
Dalhousie Baseball Club is looking to fill various key positions for the 2009
season. Positions include Head Coach, General Manager and Public
Announcer / Statistician. Please forward expressions of interest and
credentials to the Dalhousie Baseball Club c/o Shawn Fraser (srfraser@dal.ca ), Dalhousie Athletics
Department, by July 10. Dalhousie Baseball Club competes in the Atlantic Conference
of the Canadian Intercollegiate Baseball Association with the season running
from early September to mid-October
