Valhalla Memorial Day Parade

Valhalla Little League will once again have the honor of participating in the Valhalla American Legion Annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 27th.  The Parade will form at the Valhalla Methodist Church on West Lake Drive at 9:00 a.m. and will step off promptly at 9:30 a.m. We will proceed down Columbus Avenue to Cedar Street and end at the Village Green Memorial Park where the ceremonies will take place. Please have your players march in full uniform and take the time to honor all those who have given so much for this country. Ice Cream, Hot Dogs, and refreshments are served following the ceremonies.

All Games and Practices Cancelled This Weekend

All Games and practices scheduled for Kensico Little League Fields have been cancelled for Friday May 24th through Monday May 27th.  See you at the parade!

Kensico Summer Baseball/Softball Programs

Kensico Baseball is proud to be supporting the participation of our players in a summer baseball/softball programs for players league age 8 through 16.  Players who have participated in this program have consistently had a positive experience, developing new skills and bonding with people in and out of the community who share a love for the game.

 

The Summer Baseball/Softball programs provide travel players and towns with an organized and highly competitive travel baseball program.  Because of the competitive nature of these programs tryouts may be necessary and teams will be formed based upon the number of registered participants and the availability of coaches.  The summer season will run from late June to early August with games scheduled for multiple days during the week and possible double headers on the weekends.  Participants will play in approximately 15-20 games in a six-week period.  The cost of the program has not been set for the 2013 season however it will be approximately $275 for 12 and under and $350 per player for the 13 and up programs.  Checks will be payable to Kensico Baseball.

 

All participants must register on-line before Friday May 24th using the link found on the upper right hand corner of this page.

 

In order to set clear expectations for this summer season please review the Code of Conduct information and return the check, registration form, signed Participant Sheet, Medical Release Form and a copy of the participant’s birth certificate to your coach on the first day of practice.  All forms can be found in the Handouts Section of the Web Site.

Mandatory Kensico Little League Coaches Certification

All volunteers must submit a completed 2013 Volunteer Information form with a copy of your driver’s license. This information will be held in strict confidence and used to complete the leagues mandatory background checks.  All volunteers must also attend a Kensico Little League Specific Mandatory Educational Session.  

 

This season Kensico Little League is partnering with the SUNY Sports Institute to certify all of our coaches. All coaches will be required to carry the SUNY Sports Institute Certification at practices and games, which requires attending one of the sessions and passing a brief examination. Visit http://www.youthsportsny.org to register for a session in the area in order to receive these mandatory credentials. Register for Course I: Coaching Players & Guiding Parents in Youth Sports.

2013 KENSICO LITTLE LEAGUE FAST PITCH TOURNAMENT

 

On the weekend of July 27th & 28th, Kensico Little League (KLL) will host its annual 16U fast pitch summer tournament. The tournament will consist of no more than 8 teams and all teams are guaranteed at least 4 games. Reservations are on a "first come, first serve" basis therefore any league officials or coaches should make reservations NOW! Fee for the tournament will be $450.00 (due in the early Spring). There are no additional fees - umpires and balls will be provided by KLL. Trophies for the championship/runner-up teams (and MVP trophies) will also be provided by KLL. All of the games will be played on the KLL softball fields.

 

League officials and coaches please note that this tournament is for competitive b-level teams, travel teams and league/town all-star teams. Congratulations to the Valhalla Softball Team on a terrific season! The 2012 team won the Class B Sectional and Regional Titles becoming a member of the States Final Four before being eliminated in the NY State Championship semi-finals. Way to go Lady Vikings!

Annual Solicitation for Volunteers

The Nominating Committee of Kensico Little League is conducting the annual solicitation for volunteers interested in serving on the Board of Directors or as a Divisional Vice President for the 2013-2014 Season. The term of office runs from 10/01/2013 to 09/30/2014. The Board meets several times a month for the entirety of the year. If you are interested in being considered for a position, please review the position description and complete the self nomination form found in the handouts section.
