2026 MBSL Travel Tryouts Registration

REGISTER FOR MBSL's 2026 TRAVEL TEAM TRYOUTS


- Players may tryout for a team based on their Baseball Age or one Baseball Age above if playing with other players from their grade (i.e. a September born child playing with kids in their grade)

8U (2nd grade or born after April 30, 2017)
9U (3rd grade or born after April 30, 2016)
10U (4th grade or born after April 30, 2015)
11U (5th grade or born after April 30, 2014)
12U (6th grade or born after April 30, 2013)
13U (7th grade or born after April 30, 2012)
14U (8th grade or born after April 30, 2011)
15/16U (9th grade and 10th grade or born after April 30, 2009)

- All players will be required to play in MBSL's spring recreational season

- Our 8U-14U programs will play in a spring travel league or tournaments; our 15U/16U program may choose to play in a spring travel league

- All teams will play 3 summer tournaments. One of the summer tournaments may be participating in Northern NJ District 10 tournament which lead to State, Region and World Series play

- Candidates are asked to register by Saturday, September 20th, 2025

Team Selection

All players are eligible to tryout for a team of their age or, only if playing "with grade" (see below), one year older.

8U (2nd grade or born after April 30, 2016)
9U (3rd grade or born after April 30, 2015)
10U (4th grade or born after April 30, 2014)
11U (5th grade or born after April 30, 2013)
12U (6th grade or born after April 30, 2012)
13U (7th grade or born after April 30, 2011)
14U (8th grade or born after April 30, 2010)
15/16U (9th or 10th grade or born after April 30, 2009)

It is important to determine your child's "Baseball Age" as players born late spring (after 4/30) and early summer are considered 1-year younger than their classmates based on Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth's age cutoff. These players have the choice to tryout "with grade" and their classmates or "with age" and players a grade behind them. The choice to play with grade or with age is a personal one and should be made based on the physical and emotional maturity of the player. All other players will typically tryout "with grade".

8U - 10U will meet at Field A. 11U - 12U will meet at Field D. 13U & 14U will meet at Field H.
