Permission Form
Troop 56 Black River Hike - ~7 miles
Saturday Dec 12th 2020
WE will be hiking the blue trail along the Black River in Chester.

The Hike is 6.5 miles

Because of the COVID restrictions we will not be car pooling. Each family will be responsible for getting their scout/family to the and from the hike.

All scouts, parents and siblings are encouraged to attend.

We will be meeting in the parking lot across from the Old Mill Tavern on route 24 at 8:00am and starting the hike at 8:15am. This lollipop-loop hike runs along the scenic Black River, following an abandoned railroad grade for part of the way and passing through a spectacular rocky gorge.
Our completion time is dependent on many these, we estimate being off the short trail by 12:00 noon. Hikers who need rides home will call when we are about 30 from the end of the hike.

All hikers must pack water (at least a liter), bag lunch and snacks. Dress appropriately for the weather and conditions. Sturdy, comfortable, well fitting hiking boots are strongly recommended for this activity - sneakers are NOT. Cotton is also not welcome. For questions regarding gear, please consult your Scout handbook and ask your Patrol Leaders.

**Please note: All adults attending must have current Youth Protection Certification Training.
