What team do you think will be the Cinderella this season? We've seen it almost every year lately one team comes out of nowhere and makes a run. Last year it was Travel Lovers, in '07 it was the Plumbers, and in '06 it was Crupi. This year, who do you think has a good chance to come out of the cellar/out of nowhere, and compete in September?

I'm gonna wait to see the responses before I give my opinion

My cinderella team is Kavanagh. We may be young and inexperienced but this will be our year.

It’s about that time, just about thirty days until the season kicks off and the insanity begins. Off the field the madness usually refers to the pursuit of the perfect draft. Here are my top four for this year.

School
In the five spot simply because they borderline qualify. They have major performances over the years but get minor recognition. They’re a team that is anchored by their two stars Billy and Mike. They have the experience and the talent to play up to any team’s level.
Crupi
The lawmen never deviate from their DNA. They launch balls all over the yard and they launch it effectively. This team is so good in the outfield that they can beat any team any given night…watch out. Especially watch out for the emerging young studs. They have a pretty unique bunch.
Remax
Remax has won nine straight games at one point last season, but wavered a bit down the stretch. However they were focused going into their playoffs and we all know what transpired. Watch them pick up steam in August as they head towards the big dance.
Harding
What a playoff run last year, they demolished their opponents in three consecutive games. It’s obvious that they’re not satisfied with their final four appearance from last year, they tasted a bit of success and they want it all. With their stars players older and more experienced I say that the glass slipper should be theirs once again.

The best Cinderella team in USPL history might very well be last year's State Farm/ Travel Lovers team. Everyone knew they were pretty good and were going to be good, but this good this fast? No, no one saw that coming.

Certainly, after a season that saw them in the finals, everyone expects them to be great this year. They may be losing some key veterans and that will hurt them in 2009.

So who will take the mantle of the 2009 Cinderella team? It doesn't have to be a team who makes the playoffs all it has to be is a team that takes people by surprise in how they contend.

Sorry, it can't be the Grocer, Griffith or Kavanagh they've been talked up all winter and spring as candidates to do damage. We need a true Cinderella a team no one expects, period. How about Kelsey’s?

There's a certain innocence that comes with being a player or fan of the Griffith team. Part of it is due to the sport we play. Throughout an uspl season you become married to your team that you play on. You spend a TON of time together. They become like family. Even if a guy only spends a season or two with your team, you gain some memories of that player that last a lifetime. You almost become like distant family members. This year may be one for Griffith.

Sorry, Cinderella, You’re Not Invited. One dominant theme that came out last years’ playoff one of the best four teams in the season usually win the overall tournament. Those clubs that have rich traditions of playing with heart and deep coffers for cold one after.

The bottom eight team should wait until 2010 to become Cinderella. Remax again in 2009.

BT..I couldn't disagree with you more..The same 7 or 8 teams that make the championship round every year will do it again this year (DST,Plumbers,Remax,Crupi,School,Bisons,Harding,Wild Wing)..There will be some improved teams like Grocer and Jakes that will make the leap back to the championship side.

Here's what your wall should be predicting for this year:

1) Crupi

2) Village Grocer

3) Wild Wing

4) Harding Display

5) MAS

At this point, you probably spilled food all over yourself. Go ahead, clean it up.
Alright, now that you've fixed that mess, let me tell you what you just read was correct. The Crupi will finish ahead of the Remax this year.
In fact, the Grocer may just give the Crupi a run for their money. Bet on Crupi it is not a risky proposition.

5 REMAX ALLSTARS
6 REMAX ALLSTARS
7 REMAX ALLSTARS

9 REMAX ALLSTARS
10 REMAX ALLSTARS

First round match up 1REMAX VS 8REMAX. 2REMAX VS 7REMAX. 3REMAX VS 6REMAX. 4REMAX VS 5REMAX.

Second round 1REMAX VS 7REMAX (Upset in round 1) 3REMAX VS 5REMAX.

My team is the Unionville Arms. My view of this seasonIt can only get better!! No, I'm not kidding either. I really think the Arms can turn it around this season (I hope!). They have new leader, players to come, even new shirts. The Arms need a fresh start and that’s what their going to get. Ten to fifteen wins are not out of the realm.

Well boys we got an extra week before the season gets going. The young Arms team will do their best not to throw up all over themselves but let’s face it Remax is still the team to beat. They have some guys that could get lost in a circle. Based on what I read with the new players, it looks like Kelsey and Travel Lovers are the ones that will be wearing the glass slipper. Good season all.

Hey everybody, this is going to be short and sweet, unlike others above. I have to devote most of my blogging time to the site that's actually paying me, but I thought I should keep the streak going and, for the 4th straight year, record my surely-wrong projected USPL standings for posterity. As always, these were generated using computer-projected stats for every player, so it's not like I'm biased against any team or my team... And this means that if your team looks bad, it's the cold hard numbers talking and you can feel free to write it off as such sometimes they get it right, sometimes they get it wrong, and there's always something to disagree with. Anyway, here are the projections:
1. Kelsey
2. Grocer
3. Jakes with a new name
4. Unionville Arms
5. Digitial
6. Harding
7. Griffith
8. Plumbers
9. Crupi Law
10. DST
11. the School
12. MAS
13. Sylvia’s Remax
14. Angus Glen
15. Wingers
16. Flakeboard
17. Travel Lovers
18. Bistro

Wow, Bistro last place! No pressure for the best group in the league....thank you for that.
Bistro has fun and doesn't worry about how they place...that's why they always make it interesting.
Bistro unbeaten 2009!!!!!
Maybe not...but who cares.

Most people spend their times thinking of ways to demise a premonition of things to come but not realizing that all things have a time and place for action. This is the year of the Unionville Arms.

Has anybody seen or played T/L!! Multiple MVP award winners, multiple batting champions, Years of experience, ZERO steroid heads, yet they continue to astonish anyone with loses. Me thinks the smart bet is Remax to get back on top!

905…………what is going on with your team? This is going to drive you guy’s nuts, but the season is done. Seriously, why bother with the rest of June, July, August and September after what happened last night?

I wouldn't call the Arms team a "Cinderella" team.
I also like the write up of all the positives about the Arms. Including how they lost against the many teams in the bottom of the 7th like it wasn't suppose to happen, why not mention the temperature and how full the moon was that night too.
How about when the games when we tied the might Ed’s squad or the plumbers.
Didn’t see that in the write up did we?
But is this going to be another blind squirrel looking for a nut under the tree?
Or perhaps a Bull getting outsmarted by the color Red.
Ohlaee!
