TOPIC: Baseball playoffs start Monday (yay!) |

| I know, I know. The Last game of the season featuring Kelsey’s and Complete Plumbing wasn’t technically in the playoffs. The stats counted as regular season stats, which meant Just Wing It made it to the show. The Plumbers could have made it but the risk of playing with the big boys was one they will were not willing to take. But still, that was a blowout according to the score, I did not see it. Some quick observations of the season:
? I haven’t seen outfield play that bad in years, and I course I am talking about Crupi games. Whew, that was cover-your-eyes awful. My toddler would have made every one of those catches with ease.
? Despite the above, apparently they do not to stop runs because they score them by the bushel unlike Remax. Every bungled hit by the former Champs needs to be listed as a hit. They should be measured on their defensive inefficiency. The team is a mess.
? I can’t remember who said it (probably Babe Ruth - he said practically everything else), but it’s still true: if you keep changing the lineup, sooner or later you’ll find one that works. This year that was DST. It’s simply amazing how they win with a bunch of old men.
? I’d heard about how good the young Arms are before seeing them play, but I had no idea how good this kid is (young outfielder). I can say that the Arms have basically found their own Devon White, except that the kid is a much better fielder. Wow.
? Harding is really good, but their defense contributed in the infield is a nightmare. I’ll have to check the stats but hit the ball on the ground and you will more than likely get to first base. They only have three good hitters
? If anyone needs to know why you shouldn’t slide head first, please tell Nvision. They think that they are the cream of the crop but swollen heads and limited experience will hurt them next week.
? It felt really weird to play against Travel Lovers this year. They use to be nice guys that played the game hard and enjoyed their time on the field. I remember thinking over and over that it was shame to see them act this way despite the score. Still, I’ll be rooting for them but they do not have a hope in the first round. They are DONE!
Maybe some year down the road, the Crosby Field of Dreams will have great memories of Village Grocer holding the uspl cup.

| In response to your first comment, why would a team with alomost a guaranteed win, come up so flat and be happy at the end to be in the connies? I think all the teams in the connies should take offence because someone thinks it is a free ride, the back door into Sunday? It is amazing what people will do to try to win a REC league.
