It is definitely no fun winning or losing by 30 runs. Get rid of the homerun rule. Bring in a mercy rule next year, if a team is up by 15 runs (or maybe 20) after 6 innings then game over. Controversy can happen anytime, but I've found it more likely occurs during these lopsided games. Like a runner taking an extra base or one team is running up the score. I'm not saying that happened every time the bottom feeders like Bistro, Griffith MAS, TL, TAR and Nvision play. The good teams just respectively kicked your butts.

The mercy rule should apply for any team that plays against the stalwart realtors know as Houghton’s conquerors.

I do not play for Remax, I am a long time admirer and one day wish to play for the New York Yankees of Unionville. Why does it matter?

Faux - I don't agree with eliminating the homerun rule, but your mercy rule isn't a bad idea. Generally, if a team is up by say 15+ runs, they will "go easy" on the opposing team by only taking one base per hit and not going out there trying to pound the ball out of the park. On another note, your comment about bottom feeders is ignorant to say the least. I play for Stephen Tar, and although our W-L record is brutal, we have been within a few runs of each game with the exception of one...

I recommend taking a look at game results before calling out teams on getting smoked every game, as I know this has not been the case for Tar this year.

I disagree with having a mercy rule, the Plumbers this year have comeback from a 12 run and 15 run deficit in the 7th inning to win (completely lucky but shows it's possible). A mercy rule is only effective when one team tries to run up the score which I have never seen in this league.

Sure... have a mercy rule so we can forget about getting the exercise from running the bases and chasing that silly ball around the diamond. Let's just go drink bear and eat wings all night and have cardiacs before we're all 50. It's not the big league's guys. How do you think the word comback came to be. I guess the Flyers should have had a mercy rule against the Bruins eh? Go play tourneys on weekends if you want to get mercied, otherwise pick up your team and play hard for 7 innings.

On another note, I don't know why we switched from an 8 inning game (if we had time). Several games have ended way before the time limit. If there is time, why not play? DST vs. School 7-7 tie last night in 7 innings done in an hour.

Two things, one good and one bad. The first is another stupid comment by Faux. Why do you have to throw the bottom feeders thing in? To be an ass? A 4 and 5 record is not so bad. On my team inparticular we have had both injury and attandance issues. Of course, no need on my part to defend against your ignorance. The second is that I have thought about the new 7 inning rule every time I see a field open for a half an hour between games? We should have left well enough alone. That being said, I know the exec will look at it. They are a great bunch of guys, except maybe Kent - just kidding of course!!
