| It's late September, a time when one pitch or one at-bat can secure or lose a playoff win, a playoff game or even a USPL championship. It's when careers are made and broken, when legends are born and goats are doomed to a future of ridicule, boos and the same question every fall: How have you coped?
Pressure in slo-pitch is not like in any other sport. The timelessness makes tension build like a volcano. Basketball players get lost in the rhythm of the game. Football players get lost in the anonymity of the trenches. But in baseball, all eyes focus on three objects. Pitcher. Batter. Ball.
