First off, congrats to the Arms on their victory. It was well-deserved.They quite simply won when it mattered most...and did it with class. The same cannot be said for the actions of some individuals that could not be considered anything but classless. There were a few individuals that carried themselves this weekend in a way that should not be tolerated in this league, and is certainly not representative of the league in general. What should not be lost in all of this is the fact that 3 father-n-son combos got to experience something the majority of us could only dream of accomplishing. Those who came to the Crosby's last year heard Vic talk about how much it meant to him to win with his son, and (ironically) Don Whelan experienced it just a few years ago himslef. Congrats to Joe and his sons Liam and Derek, Mario and Pauly, and Mike and Steve. Coming from an admittedly competitive player myself, I can only hope that what many of us witnessed over this weekend was spirit of the moment stuff, but it would seem we've seen this before from a few people. Overall a great weekend (VG will be back next year) and let's focus on the class over the classless. That's what the USPL is truly about. See you at the Crosby's!

Congratulations to the Arms. It was an excellent finish to a terrific season for all in the USPL. It was a fun year for us on Griffiths and we also had a father-son tandem. Phil and Andre Soulodre were a pleasure to have on our squad and we most appreciate the amazing positive attitude, dedication and constant flow of beers! Cheers to all for a great season!

Luckily for the league, the classy guys outnumber the classless guys about 100 to 1.

Just to add to Jamie’s comments, there was a “semi-official” 4th Father-Son combo for The Arms. Donny Mac was at nearly every one of the Arms’ games as their scorekeeper, and got to see and appreciate how his son Ryan has improved as a ball player. Congrats to Big and Little Mac.

Thanks Jimmy. I remembered Donny and Ryan as I was driving around. Congrats to them too and sorry for the oversight.

I have to admit, I was really nervous to see what this league and forum had to say about this weekend, or more so, about the Arms winning.

I'm completely blown away from how much class and sportsmanship is in this league and community. It means a lot for a young lad like me so see so much support from everyone in the league, and to be congratulated on such a big win. The biggest of my life. Thank everyone who said we deserve it, and everyone who has given us their congrats on the weekend. You are the reason why this league is so fun and Classy.

Thanks to all the UMPS who are all the salt of the earth. Thanks to Chris G for putting this together with the help of the whole committee. Thanks to CP, Wing It, MAS, VG, and Crupi, who were all unbelievable opponents, fun to play against, and stand up sportsmanlike athletes.

Thanks to my team the Arms.

The only repeat performances in the 2011 playoffs will the tactless behavior of two Plumbers.

Tactless of two Plumbers? You should be a little more specific and ensure you can back your comments.

The Plumbers represented themselves well and played their hearts out. We were eliminated by the well deserving Unionville Arms.

The only thing I really dislike about this forum are lame ass comments made by people like yourself (whoever you are).

Sincerely,

James Mealin.
