It took me a couple of days with repeated episodes of disappointment and frustration before my words began to meet the criteria of realistic….well realistic from my point of view…which may at times be questionable.
Nevertheless I still am quite sure that the VG team formed this year from a talent perspective matched any other team in the league.
I am well aware that the best team won and I think it was well deserved. – Well done Arms.
What I would like to share with those that take the time to read my dribble is what I view as the definition of “team”. Maybe we can check with the Arms to see if some of this applied or perhaps aided to their success this year.

Obviously there is a certain amount of natural talent or acquired skill needed to have a successful baseball team. Beyond this, a team requires more then how good your performance is in any given game, inning or play.
It requires the answer to how good everyone’s performance is. When I use the word performance, I am not just referring to baseball talent or fundamentals. I am referring to something far more important.
A team works together, understands, encourages, teaches, listens, motivates, respects and can’t wait to it all over again. A team does not have to force any of these emotions or actions. It just naturally happens. It becomes reality. It just is.

In many cases thru my baseball experiences, this environment and vision takes time to build. A team truly doesn’t become a team until it experiences defeat. The tell tale sign of the success moving forward is how that team deals with each other during or after losing.

This year has been a very good experience for our team. Most will agree and see how moving forward is going to be so much fun. Friends that gel become great baseball teams and I see this one as a great team in the making.
Reviewing our record from last year to this year there appears to be some minor differences…..but we still are not the team that we know we can be….that may trouble some people that read this because they cannot fathom this squad playing up to its full potential. Reality is we only did that twice this year.

My predictions for next year….Plummer’s have no chance. The bat slamming, air boxing whinny all about me attitude is a clear distinction of what kills a team. I do tip my hat to the guys on the Plummer’s that have to suffer with the unmentioned…. you have far more patience then I. Reality is I have spent far to many words in this post on these kind of individuals already and in the big picture are such an insignificant part of my reality.

Final thought…perception often creates reality…..We on VG, as a team, had the wrong perception. VG is going to grow into a better team and become stronger as we continue to grow closer together….. And that has to put an uneasy feeling into the pit of some stomachs.
When I think of it…. my knee begins to feel better already…..

Welcome to those who didn’t know.

Is it May yet?

Harsh words, whoever you are, The suspend are great guys just a little competitive on the field. They will voice their opinions when somethings not right. I played with them years ago when our team tried to throw out a specific player, the whalens were the ones that stepped up and said we won't let you do that.

In regards to the issue this weekend, if I understand the issue correctly, they should cry foul with the decision that was
Made to start a new 2 inning game. If it was any other team you would of done the same thing.

Peace guys
