Can anyone tell me the league rules on how many times a player is allowed to sit during a game?

Example: Team A has 11 players on a given night, and 1 of those players sits three innings, while a few of the other players on the team do not sit out at all. Is this permitted?

No it's not allowed. every player has to sit once before a player can sit twice.

Basically,

Here is how it should work

Every player needs to sit once (twice, three times) before another player sits twice (or three times etc..)

If you have 11 players, and the game goes 7 innings then 7 guys should sit once (as you play with 10 players. 4 dont sit at all.

If you have 12 players and the game goes 7 innings, then each inning 2 players sit. At the end of the 6th inning every player on your team (including the pitcher) should have sat once. In the 7th, two players will sit again and it will be their second time sitting.

Hope this helps.

Thanks guys, very helpful. It's too late to call out the team that violated this rule against us, but definitely something to keep an eye on going forward!

Gimme,
Don't let your legendary ball career fizzle to nothing like others and have teams keep you hanging around for your legacy. Don't be Brett Favre. Retire and relax.

Good work Boys! Now we all know what the rule is and the confusion is gone! Look out for MAS, Harding and Griffith.

A few weeks ago we had a batter get hurt when they were up to bat. They swung at the ball, got hit, and were unable to continue in the game. Since they swung at the ball, it was a strike, but they were unable to continue the game. What is the rule at this point? We talked with the other team and they allowed us to use a previous batter to complete this at bat (1 strike, 3 balls on the count). None of us knew the official rule.
