Whitey Herzog once said about running up the score "I will stop trying to score runs when you stop trying to score runs". The problem is that we have all suffered large leads and watched a team come back to win. Perhaps it is respect when a team keeps scoring as they fear the other team will come back. Perhaps if a team wishes the other team not score any more then they should declare a mercey. As far as I am concerned when I am getting hammered, thanks DST, that they don't need to stop playing it is my team that needs to start playing better!

I agree with Mr Game. I am more upset and embarrassed when the other team starts taking it easy after 3 innings. We had a game this year where we were up by 17 runs after 2 innings and discussed going base to base. However, who's to say that the other team couldn't do the same? They had averaged more runs per game than us over the year. Finally, when it come to hitting, swing at anything reasonable, but for the life of me, I hate to hear "swing" when the ball is 2 feet outside!!

Last night, we were getting demolished but a certain team with white pants (no names mentioned) they are up their swinging for the fences on every pitch. When they hit a long shot they stood and admired it. Is that right?

I don't mind people swinging for the fences, but they should act like they have hit a home run before. Plus, admiring a Crosby home run is comical. Not sure if it was there, but just saying....

I personally have no problem with teams continuing to put up runs because with softball anything can happen. But like injury prone said there is a proper way of doing it when you are up by a pile of runs. If you hit a home run put your head down and jog around the bases, don't stand there admiring it.
Personally I find it more offensive when the opposing team stops trying because they are in the lead.

I'm not complaining NOW!!!!! Summit beat everyone this year.

This was a good wake up call for the rest of the league. And Im also going to continue to support my boys. You almost made me come out of retirement....LMBO

No excuses they got beat. So I hope that comforts you a little . Why do you have to run up the score?
