It is proven that handle certain new 'flex' bats will improve the batted ball performance on miss-hits. I believe it was one of the Kittering studies.
I think there's a reasonable concensus that with the new hot dots, the better performing bats seem to be the ones that offer a little more handle flex.
While I agree that the bat doesn't 'bend', there is a change in the stiffness of the handle at the moment of inertia that seems to have a positive effect on the lower comp balls. I have felt a certain amount of 'flex' or 'give' to 2 piece bats I've used in the past (Ressy Mutant, PSTOC or the Worths with the whiplash frame) when making contact closer to the end cap, away from the sweet spot.
Most of the hot bats over the past couple of seasons either have a 2 piece construction or some sort of designed handle flex.
I'm planning on having a serious discussion on this forum and don't want to read any more crap about the masters crap.

See ball hit ball.
If it doesn't go far just give a "oooh damn, hit off the end of the bat" and go back to chewin' on seeds.

The older and slower I get, the better the two piece feels. I don't know how to explain it but the whip compensates for my decreased bat speed. Different two piece bats feel different also, some are very whippy and some are stiff like a one piece. I hit pretty much only eastons because they are whippy.

The bat is irrelevant, it is about pitch selection. Swing at the correct pitch and most of time the results will be favorable.

As someone who played in many tourney, I feel i'm uniquely qualified to offer insight into the worst bats. Anything by Easton, Miken or DeMarini are all garbage.

Best bats I swung in the past were Resmondo titans/mayhems and OG DC Psycho, if they were still allowed after this year I wouldn't have ever changed as I don't think anything since has hit the ball better.

Swinging through for strike 3 is way worse then watching it land on the mat. Let's hear if anyone knows of this happening.

My review~~~~ I got a catty last year and finally got to swing it this year. I got to swing it next to a 500 hit z2000. I can say the catty did take 100+ hits to open up. What I did notice was the sound really didn't change when you killed the ball or miss hit it. Around 200 hits the bat was good. It's really close to the 500+ hit z2k, I really feel that the catty is really like a z2k with a stiffer handle and a cool paint job. I am very pleased with it and I can see it getting better with more swings. I hit one fairly deep (360') with in June.

This bat is legit!!
I have a 27 balanced and it swings very true to weight and is very impressive.
I recommend swinging this bat, I am sure most will like it!!

Never let the fear of striking out get in your way of putting the blame on the bat.
