Just wanted to say a few things about the weekend.

1 - Congrats to MAS - you played well all year, certainly a strong team and despite the adversity after last year, you overcame and brought it home. I have a bunch of good friends on that team who are good guys, so I'm happy for the lads, you know who you are.

2 - Gonzo, Vos, John K and the rest of the exec - I am proud to call you gentleman my colleagues and to be part of the Exec. From diamond set up, to the beer tent, scorekeepers, staff at the booth supplying food and drink, it was first rate, cheers to you all

3 - Field crew Sunday - to those who helped out getting the diamond ready, well done. There were a few of us who chipped in to make it playable and that stuff shouldn't go unnoticed.

4 - Umps - Jimmy, Dave, Dana, Drew and whomever else may have been at Milliken. Thanks, thank you all. Even though we yell, scream, debate, argue, every one of us thanks you for your efforts. We couldn't play without you guys and despite what most say about you (just kidding)I appreciate it and you guys do the best job you can. Two umps are a treat.

It was a great weekend to finish a great year, some won, some lost, but all of us got to share in something that makes this town, this league and this sport truly special. For those of us who grew up watching our dads play, and now having them watch us, it's a cool feeling and a bond between all that have played in this league one that lasts a lifetime.

Looking forward to next season already, even with a busted up ankle, can't wait to get out there again.

Cheers to all, have a great off season.
Ricky Seymour, Harding # 24

To echo your thoughts it was an outstanding weekend, great beer tent. The atmosphere was electrifying for the players and the fans. What a community event. This league can't be beat.

The league alumni was out in full force on Saturday and Sunday which speaks volumes about the definition of the USPL.

Ricky,
Thanks for the good feedback. The umps had a great time this past weekend too. We all love doing such competetive games.

PS. Glad to hear your ankle wasn't broken. Enjoy Florida.

Great post Ricky - I couldn't agree more. Even though our squad didn't make it to Sunday (hey, I'll take the Cony title) it was a great time at Crosby on Saturday and from everything I've heard Sunday went exceptionally well despite the weather throwing a curveball at everyone in the AM.

I also want to congratulate the guys on MAS as I know that despite some of the vitriol directed their way there are some great guys on the team. It's always good seeing another new champ - no knock against DST, Duchess or The Arms but this once again proves the parity of the league and it's great to see. I loved seeing Harding make it to Sunday too after such a disastrous last season. Things sure didn't play out as expected and I think that's a positive (though I'm sure some of the guys on Tar & Duchess may disagree after their great seasons).

Growing up playing ball in Markham all my life and now being part of this league with a lot of the guys I played and/or grew up with I hope that we can continue to keep this league running as well as all the amazing current and past Execs for many years to come. Great season boys, see you all next year.

Manu kudos to the organizers of the weekend. Loud cheers from the crowd made it a great ( painful bad swings) experience. I am totally impressed.

It was a great final weekend of ball. The playoffs had many close games with some going into overtime. A great way to end the season.

I would like to congratulate all players and teams. My team is looking forward to an even bigger and better performance in 2015!

Thank you to all the executives and team managers.

At the end of the season. Make it a habit to tell people thank you. To express your appreciation, sincerely and without the expectation of anything in return. Truly appreciate those teammates, and you’ll soon find many others around you. Truly appreciate the people that spend the time to make this league run like no other.

Two weeks without ball and I am becoming more and more grumpy. The playoff games and the environment at Crosby were more fun than winning the lottery. Well, not really but it was awesome.

I couldn't imagine what this forum would have looked like from all of you if a team won most of the championship in the early 2000's. Parity in the recent years is a beautiful thing.

Everyone relax and enjoy the games, know one remembers the champion but everyone recalls moronic behavior.

Forget my password. These rainy days. Nothing to do. Looked at this forum for the first time this year.

I wrote this in 2014.

Still applies today.

We're not the same person we were a year ago, a month ago, or a week ago. we're constantly changing experiences don't stop. that's life. Just play ball and keep our mouths shut.

Pumpkin spice lattes and Halloween cookies were out the first of the month. I'm sure the Christmas decorations will hit shelves soon, and before we know it, Valentine's Day cards and chocolates will be everywhere.

When is the tryouts in May

Time flies.
