| Hi Everyone, As you can imagine, I received numerous emails/ phone calls with respect to the weather. So I thought I would remind everyone.
IF the City is going to close the fields, we will send a blast email out to all those on the distribution list by 3pm that day. If you do not receive any email , then the fields are open and please use fields at your own discretion.
I noticed that many of the calls were from people not on this list , so if you can advise your teams/players that you will advise them after 3pm, would be greatly appreciated.
Also, if you need to add anyone to the distribution list , just send me or have them send me their email address and group they are with . I will be happy to add them.
Thanks everyone. Let’s hope for sunshine !

| What the dark, daunting skies last night, I am amazed we got all the games played. What day is the first day of summer?More rain is scheduled for next week.

| Who cares about the weather..... we gots no control
How many leagues have made it mandatory for pitchers to wear face protection? Now that is a real Q&A

| Personally think it should be full helmet and not just the plastic or metal face guards for all infielders.
The ball is coming off these bats hard as heck. Player safety should be #1 concern.

| I'm a pitcher and currently don't wear one, but would be open to it. But I think in our lower divisions it would be a tough go. They already have a tough time getting people to pitch, making them wear a mask would be tough to convince. Its also an added expense to people that pitch.

| It's a more complex issue than simply saying "a mask" is required.

| I like what I have experienced in the states where the pitcher has a screen and any ball that hits it is a dead ball out. Too many times the pitcher on the team is the old guy or the bigger fat guy that isn't at 1st because they aren't good enough to catch the ball... combine that with the bats and the fact a bunch can't actually pitch and are lucky to hit the board, it's a recipe for disaster.

| Our pitcher wheres the mask. We don't care if he uses it or not when he is on the mound.
As long as he has it on during the team photo. We call him Hannibal Leckter.

| The answer is definitely no. Why do pitchers go crazy when the ball comes close to them?

| Kudos to the decision to cancel the late games last night. Driving through a downpour, getting to the park just to find out we are not playing is never good. The message was early and concise, bravo. Cheers!

| Excellent choice. Wasting our time on a cold raining night is simply not worth it.
