| Yesterday, I had an amazing time with my family and close friends. We laughed, shared stories, and enjoyed each other's company. We went for a walk in the park, played some board games, and had a delicious meal together. However, as much as I enjoyed spending time with my loved ones, I couldn't help but miss my ball family. I have so many fond memories of playing ball with them and I can't wait for our next game together in the spring.

| My 2 cents for what it’s worth…. I think crossover games would be a terrible idea. Sure it sounds like fun but let’s look at the reality. Most guys move up to 40 plus because they are finding it harder to compete in open. So let’s say you have someone that’s a little longer in the tooth playing third base, I like to think I can hit a ball semi average hard and a miss hit is a liner down third. Now the reaction time isn’t as good and someone gets injured. Or someone tries to hit a gap and miss hits up the middle. I think the idea is more appealing than the reality of safety when it comes to this. If guys want to play against open teams because you feel you can still compete ? Join an open team as an individual rather that putting guys in harms way on your team that don’t want to play against harder hitting teams.

| My last comments and thoughts on cross over games between the 40+ and Masters Division subject in case it comes up at AGM: To contradict some of the previous posts, I consider myself one of my team’s stronger players and I am against the idea for a number of reasons.
1. As Bessy points out about… for the same reasons the 40+ guys opted to not sign up for the Open Division due to finding it harder to compete the same can be said for the Masters’ guys.
2. Team make up… the 40+ teams are pseudo tournament teams who bring in whoever they want vs. the Masters’ is open to anyone who wants to play for an evening of hits and giggles…leading to a wide disparity in player talent level.
3. Getting a step slower… I can’t speak to the other Masters’ team, but my squad’s average age is 65 years young. Six players will be 69 or over with the oldest nearing 80. Eleven players over age 60. And only 1 player under the age of 56. Damn these dudes are old :-).
4. The points above leads to ultimate reason against it which is the safety of the players… ask anyone from the Thursday morning league about the incident this past Summer of what can occur when players with a significant disparity in player level play against each other… accidents happen, but as a team rep I would feel responsible if anyone from my squad gets injured in one of the crossover games where we knowingly put players in increased risk of harm by playing a 40 year old tournament-level player against a 65-70+ year old “out to enjoy an evening of baseball” player… where is the “fun” in that.
5. In the end, if the league decides to proceed I would leave it up to my team members if they would actually show up to play… I for one will have a prior commitment that evening… unless I can cherry pick my squad.
Anyway… that’s my two cents…. Fire away….

Anyone who thinks 40 vs. Masters is good competition
SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES.
40 teams would be playing against players the age of your fathers. How much of an baseball ego/vanity boost do you need?
The vote should only be taken by the Masters teams. They are the ones - who will be mercied - have only 2 bats that night - be frustrated not making age specific plays - and possibly injured.

| Gonna be that slopitch guy...
For many years I've been lead off on all my teams since I was 10. Never had power but just got on base.
A few years ago I started working out everyday & over 1 1/2 years I hit numerous HR's, completely confusing everyone.
I don't think I've hit one since. Hopefully, that changes this weekend at Crosby with a ruckus group behind the fence eating and drinking.
