| Having a friendly debate with some teammates - what is worse in Slopitch:
1. Swinging and missing COMPLETELY (no foul tip) for a strikeout
Or
2. Watching the ball hit the board for strike 3
My vote is swinging and missing is worse. I know it happens but we should all be able to make contact with the ball regardless.

| A few years ago I joined this league. I'm good at fielding and defense, but my batting is terrible. I don't swing often, but I can't hit the ball hard or deep. In batting cage practice, I averaged two hits per 10 balls. I want to stop striking out swinging, as some games I never hit anything. How can I improve?

| Birkey, I'm not sure what is "older". We've seen guys in their 40's - 50's = old. "Older" guys should have the common sense to not blame others and know when to "hang them up".

| Anchor, I'm amazed that anyone playing slopitch doesn't know illegal pitches are over 12ft (max) and under 6ft (min).
Since the pitch was not over your head (6ft) then it was lower and an illegal pitch.
Anther good call by the ump.
