Author TOPIC: Why do guys leave this league?

The numbers decline because of the young guys. The older guys take it far more serious than the younger guys and show up. That is the main issue getting guys who show up and don't play anywhere else so they don't disappear come playoff time or to play with their other teams. If guys were allowed to formulate their own teams or play with people they like then the problem would be solved.

Guys leave this league because they are mandatory placed on teams during the draft and not with their buddies.

based on this logic, should we turn this into a men's league like the ASHL and allow anyone to enter teams in with no restrictions?

I wonder how long we would be able to have 18 teams in the league

The only issue with this league is the minority of players like to change the rules. It is a great league, no changes required.

I will be curious to see if the new exemption expansion actually fills the purpose of people filling their teams let alone make them better. Seems like a good decision which should help all teams. I do feel bad for the teams that have built up their teams the right way through the process of the draft over the years. The lower brackets teams stay in the bottom because of bad choices in the draft. Just because a player is exempt, it does not mean he's an all star so that is also something to consider. Guys come to play or stay in this league when they can play with someone they want to play with.

A person would only leave this league if he had medical problems, move far away or plain old dumb

The key to keeping players in this league is simple, the basis needs of humans needs to be fulfilled. Make guys feel wanted. let them into the inner circle of your team and they stay for many years. Most new teammates are unwanted draft picks, playing with guys you like and know leads to a winning formula for the entire league.
When one door closes, another opens but often we look so long at the closed door that we don't see the one which has been opened for us. This is just one man's opinion.

Agreed, guys only leave their teams because of the clique.

I have never read or listened to so much judging before the season has been unveiled. Guys are asked to leave teams because of their lack of talent not on their ability to purchase the post game suds.

After many years of research, scientists have proven that our community has changed and guys only want to play with their buds. That is why we say goodbye to many players every year.

Players who are excepted by their team are likely to have higher self-esteem and a more positive outcome on the game. Be mindful of what you toss away, be careful of what you push away, and think very hard before you walk away.

We are currently taking trade offers for the few catchers on my team. If your team needs a few hot headed underachievers, I'll trade them for basically nothing or a couple of chicken wings.

Many people lose their best friends from teams because of their big mouths. Enjoy the game and shout your mouth.

80% of the time, jealousy within a tram environment is due to the fear of losing the person you care about to another team. The fact is good players do not leave teams but most bad ones are asked to leave.

Look it. I'm a reasonable guy.
It's only when you push me to the edge that I become an unreasonable force. Did you witness our playoff run last year?
This year we knock the door wide open.

I can tell u that it is VERY difficult to run a competitive team these days. Having a good draft is a very important part of the team if you are trying to win. We have 15 guys on our team and everyone is important, some have families and other obligation and can’t always dedicate certain nights to ball. This league might have been a “beer league” in the past but it is defiantly not anymore…that part we have to except. You start the best 10 players you have on any given night and you try your hardest hide the other guys. We always made that clear up front and if a player can’t accept that, then unfortunately we part as friends and hope the best for that person within another team.

There’s a point in life when you get tired of chasing people. It’s not giving up, it’s realizing you don’t need certain people & their crap.

I should be given an award for NOT saying what I was thinking on this subject. Certain teams are guilty of this every year.

Sometimes...We expect more from others because we’d be willing to do that much for them.
