| Mariani's forfeited for the 2nd time in the last 4 games tonight. This is not a shot at them but more a point worth noting going forward. With the elimination of the play-in game and the
re-structuring of the playoff format, there are going to be teams at the end of the season that mail it in and Forfeit games like this when they can't be bothered to try to find players.
In this instance it really didn't affect the standings too much only the 3,4 seeds. That said, there will come a time in the near future where a forfeit could determine a playoff spot and that will definitely cause an issue.
Not saying that we should bring back the play-in game so that everyone plays out the year but if these late season forfeits are going to be the by product of the new rules, we may want to look at ways to keep all teams motivated to keep playing.
Anyway, kudos to Harding and Envision, a couple of classy teams that although had off seasons were still fielding competitive teams right to the end.

| I agree Ryan. It will eventually effect standings. What if it wasn't the 3 and 4 seeds but the 11, 12, 13 or 14th seed? It's tight this year. Plus you lose the game to stay fresh and ready for the playoffs.
Only a few years ago, a team was accused of defaulting their final game to get into to the Conny side in an a attempt to bypass the more difficult teams to win the Conny and make the "play in game".
Their are rules in the USPL constitution where teams are supposed to lose players but they are difficult and seldom enforced. Does the league really want to remove players from teams that have attendance issues?

| You have my vote as well. Perfect guy to keep character, integrity and community all in tact moving forward... "Moving Along Seniors" kinda stuff shouldn't happen in our town, at least it never used too !

| While Steaner makes a great point, let's not confuse the real issue here - defaults. Defaults are an issue that need to be dealt with regardless of whether a play-in game is in place or not. To suggest the play-in game is brought back just to remedy this doesn't stand to reason. Someone else even posted that there was a supposed intentional default in order to better a teams chances to make the play-in game. The real issue is defaulting at all. There's a spares list for a reason. There's a constitution and rules for a reason. If a team defaults twice, there are consequences already established that simply need to be enforced. End of story. Whether a default effects standing is just an unfortunate outcome of a bigger problem that wasn't dealt with accordingly.

Hahaha, kidding of course.
Well said and a good point. We would hate to have this really affect a team's chance of getting into the playoffs. Definitely something to consider for future seasons.
