I have heard and read for months how this is a mediocre NFL QB class. The Rams sell the farm for one & now they're geniuses. Jeff Fisher has a lot of friends or pictures on some important people.

The Rams will not win more than five games for the next four years. Big bad trade of many picks.

Whatever happened to the groundhog’s rules? I’m sure we’re passed the 6 week mark by now, no matter what the groundhog said, and I’m ready for summer and some ball.

It’s not really summer until the lemonade stalls come out. But whoever planned this national day calendar obviously lived somewhere a lot warmer and made today National Lemonade Day.

Lemonade was said to have come from the Egyptians, when they sweetened their water with the citrus fruit and added some dates, honey, and mint to make wine. Sounds yummy.

It’s true, lemonade is delicious year-round, that sour and tart coldness activates every taste bud and says, “it’s summertime.” I’m going to pretend the weather is hotter than it is, maybe imagine I’m on a tropical resort somewhere, and indulge in some good ole’ lemonade...maybe I’ll go for the pink kind.

Bring on the heat.

Our mind is not unlike a sea or a an ocean. Rain showers, storms, or the sun can transform the surface of any expanse of water into a bubbling, frothing buildup of horrifically high waves, or into a clear, smooth sheet whereby you can see into those great depths below.

Today is Teacher Appreciation Day...and I’m personally thanking all you educators for encouraging, instructing, mentoring, influencing, guiding, and inspiring our young ones. Thanks for teaching from the heart.

Now if only your teachers taught you the answers to these three questions:

Why are some players weaker than others
Why are we out on a foul ball
Why do we use a yellow ball

It's called natural ability. Some people are better at some things then others. It's unfortunate for the guys that try to get better but they can't.
If you can't hit the ball fair you deserve to be out. Especially after 3 tries.
The optic yellow ball is easier to see on white gravel. We use red clay so it doesn't make a difference. The yellow ball gets lost less in the lights at night time too.

Now that the weather is getting warmer, there is no excuse not to try harder on game day. I admittedly, did not last year. (I’m not in the best of shape, okay? But I will work on it this summer). There are so many benefits of playing ball: you save on time with the family, stay healthy by getting some exercise, and you’re helping the environment by spending time in the outdoors.

Life is a fiesta - and today we’re celebrating Cinco de Mayo to honour one of our favourite countries: Mexico!

Contrary to popular belief, Cinco de Mayo is not Mexican Independence Day (that is a much bigger celebration on September 16). It is a historic celebration honouring Mexico’s victory in the Battle of Puebla.

Will some history to provide you context, we won’t fault you for indulging in inspiring ball starting next week.

Today is George Clooney’s birthday, one of the most handsome men in the world...or so I’m told by my wife. He turns 55 years old, but doesn’t look a day over 29 (see, I’m getting the hang of this).

This is a guy that can play in both divisions and have success.

M - O - T - H - E - R
"M" is for the million things she gave me,
"O" means only that she's growing old,
"T" is for the tears she shed to save me,
"H" is for her heart of purest gold
"E" is for her eyes, with love-light shining,
"R" means right, and right she'll always be,
Put them all together, they spell
"MOTHER,"
A word that means the world to me.

You know you're too busy when...there is not enough time in the day to sit in stillness. To give yourself a chance to reclaim your true nature. Not those times when you throw yourself into bed at night after a game in pure exhaustion. But, that special kind of silence...like the early morning tranquility before the rest of the world begins to stir in wakefulness or rounding the bases with joy as your opponents look with envy.

Beck & Call. The phrase originates from the 1800s, but overtime, people misheard the words and mistaken it as “beckon” instead of “beck and.” I suppose either is correct now, but who’s really paying attention. Some teams are at the beck and call of superior teams and get manhandled. Bring your A game and step up when you play stronger teams.

Happy birthday to Cher, who turns 70 years old today! Born Cherilyn Sarkisian, the goddess of pop has sold over 100 million records and won a Billboard Artist of the Year Award, Academy Award, Grammy Award, Emmy Award, Golden Globe Award, and many other honours.

After her divorce from Sonny Bono in 1975, Cher earned $300,000 a week for her 1980-1982 residency show at Caesar’s Palace Las Vegas. She later returned from 2008-2011 and signed a $180 million deal to headline.

How many players in the USPL are over 70?

You know that song Rock and roll is here to stay? On this day in history in 1956, that was not the case.

June 3, 1956 saw the ban of Rock and Roll in Santa Cruz, California. The music was not to be played at public gatherings for it was deemed detrimental to the health and morals of the community and its youth. Oh, if they could see the teenagers, now…

Whether you’re a fan of the music or not, keep rocking and rolling with the USPL.
