Benson's walks it off over Gally's with a late inning rally
Benson's remains undefeated stealing one from Gally's in walk-off fashion, 13-12 on Sunday. Liz Carter hung in there, surviving 5 walks and 2 HBP to go 3-0 on the season. Benson's defense wasn't as strong as it's been early, but they tightened up late to keep the score close as they never led in the game until the final at-bat. Mike Lans was the hero in this one with a 2-out single in the bottom of the 7th scoring Bartolo Tibrucio from second. Battign highlights for Benson's include Carroll (1 R, 3 RBI) and Finn (3 R, 1 RBI) both going 4 for 5 and Tibrucio (4 R, 3 RBI) going 3-4 with his league leading 3rd home run. Carter added an inside-the-park HR to aid her effort.
For Gally's Gallagher pitched well in the tough-luck loss. Offensively, Maybo started things off with a first inning grand slam while Currier went 4 for 5 with 3 RBI and newcomer Phil Golderman went 3 for 3.
