Loftus Throws Perfecto
Bob Loftus was dominant once again, besting his no-hitter from two weeks ago with the first-ever perfect game in the history of the Backyard Wiffle(R) Ball League. Loftus' Pittston Park Boys had little trouble with the Flying Dragons, defeating them 12-0 behind the best pitching performance of the young season.
Loftus struck out all 15 batters he faced, improving his season total to 49.
Loftus also led the Boys offensively, going 5-for-7 with two doubles, two homeruns (including the game clincher), and seven runs batted in. Tom was 3-for-5 and Robert was 2-for-3 with a homerun for the winners.
Tom Hannon took the loss on the hill for the Dragons.
