The second match of the day was hard fought battle between Ceres and Merced. Ceres scored first with a shot from about 20 yards out from goal that sailed just out of the reach of Taylor's fingertips. Jasmine tied the match just a few minutes before halftime with a great sequence of passing that started with Mykayla to Kristie then to Jasmine on a 1v1 breakaway against the goalie. The second half was another tough half of soccer for the Explosion. With 8 minutes to go in the match, Celeste took a ball under control in the defensive line and then sent a ball up to Jasmine on a run. Jasmine received the ball and again was in a 1v1 with the goalie and put it into the net. The Explosion did a great job applying pressure defense for the remaining 8 minutes to preserve their 7th victory of the season.
